It was their first official night, and Jungkook had insisted that they stuff whatever they could from the kitchen into a basket, grab a blanket and a Bluetooth speaker they found in one of the rooms and picnic on the beach.

"Did you plan this?" Hoseok asked as they walked down the small woodsy trail, a blanket tucked under his arm.

"Plan what?" Jungkook asked from behind.

Hoseok was pointing forward as the dirt trail turned into sand, "That."

Jungkook's eyes followed, finding the sun that was just about to set into the ocean. "Wow...the sun sets on this part of the island..." He grinned. "I totally planned this."

Hoseok was giggling, setting the blanket down onto the fairly vacant beach. "You totally did not."

"Did to!" Jungkook chuckled, sitting down and dumping all the snacks between them when he noticed Hoseok checking his phone. "Hyung, that's like, the hundredth time today you've checked your phone." He chuckled, trying to keep the mood light as he set up the speaker. "Are you expecting someone to message you or something?"

Hoseok looked shocked. "Wha-what? That's just- I haven't been looking at it that much. You're just exaggerating Kookie."

"Oh am I?" Jungkook smirked when Hoseok started to pout

"Yes."

"Then who's messaging you? Did they leave you on read or something?" Jungkook asked quickly.

"No they didn't leave me on read."

"Ha! So it's somebody!" Jungkook cheeriered.

Hoseok groaned. "Why are you like this? It's not somebody in my life anymore, yeah? I'm...I'm trying Kookie, but it's a habit I think."

Jungkooks chest tightened. "But- hyung we got your phone fixed the day he came over...the girl at the phone store said she blocked his number and everything. Did he find a way to message-"

"No, no Kookie it's not like that. He didn't message me at all. And I wouldn't message him even if he did it's just...that's why I think it might be a habit." Hoseok fumbled with the phone in his hands. "I'm sorry Kookie...you're trying so hard to fix me and I just keep messing everything up-"

"I would never try to fix you hyung, because there's nothing that needs fixing. I don't want you to be any other way then who you are right now, okay? And you're not messing anything up. Getting over a break up is hard and it takes time right? So it only makes sense that little things like this come up." Jungkook tried to soothe, moving to sit closer to the elder.

Hoseok shook his head. "This doesn't feel like a breakup Kookie...I feel like I should be getting a text right now telling me to come home, to stop having fun and deal with the consequences of the mess I've created." Hoseok took a quick breath, as if he couldn't get his words out fast enough. "I feel like I should be telling Sangchul about every little thing I'm doing, sending pictures and making time to call him and figuring out why he's frustrated with me because he's not messaging me and...and..."

Jungkook rested a comforting hand on Hoseok's thigh, waiting for the elder to finish. "And I guess it's just a habit. Even though I know he's not there, I know I don't have to worry, I still...feel like I'm doing something wrong if I don't. I'm having fun with you Kookie, I swear I am. This is the most fun I've had in months, but...I just can't make everything stop. It feels like it never will."

"Hyung, this is a healing vacation! You're not going to get over all this in just a week, let alone two. I know that, it's okay. I promise. You just have to be patient with yourself. And talk to me about these things to, yeah? When you can? Or at least with someone, we can work on this together." Jungkook spoke reassuringly, offering a hopeful smile when Hoseok finally lifted his eyes to meet the younger boys own.
