Chapter 9
Becky's POV
I stretched and hobbled out of bed. The apartment was silent and empty, I could only hear my footsteps.
The hallway soon ended and I spotted a note on the counter. I carefully picked it up.
Beck-
We had to go to school. We decided to let you stay home and rest, but Frank will be over later with your homework and whatever else.
Get better, Gee
Well that was nice of them. I sighed and put the note down. I was alone now, so I decided to make a big breakfast. By "big" I mean Captain Crunch and Nutella.
The rest of the day was nothing special, just Tim Burton movies, tylenol, and the occasional-trip-over-nothing.
At around three thirty there was a knock on the door. I rushed to the door to be greeted by a hyper Frank.
"Hi Becky!" He hugged me tightly before picking up his bookbag and walking in.
"Hiya Frank." I smiled and closed the door behind him.
"Feeling better?"
"Much thanks." I replied. He sat down on the couch and began emptying his books. "Ew, work." I said before sitting next to him.
"I know right? But you have me, your handy-dandy, professional tudor, Frankenstein." He said proudly before shoving a paper in my face.
His handwriting was sprawled everywhere and doodles covered the corners. The homework sheet was crumpled and was obviously shoved in the bottom of his bag.
"Uh, Frank?"
"Yeah?"
"I can't read any of this." He snatched the paper from my hands and scanned it over.
"Course you can't, I wrote it. My handwriting is like a chicken's on crack." He giggled before shoving a copybook on my lap.
"You' ve got french, algebra, lit, history, and creative writing." He said throwing more books on me. I laughed and rolled my eyes before opening my french book. There was silence for a few minutes before Frank broke it.
"Becckkkyyy, I don't get it." He whined and threw his book at me. I grabbed it and began reading it. It was his writing homework, which was the same as mine.
"All you have to do is write a paragraph describing a very creative essesnce with plenty of adjectives and emotions."
"What the hell did you just say?" He said in confusion. I rolled my eyes.
"Write something with a lot of thought and descriptive words." I simplified.
"Oh, okay." He took his paper back and began scribbling something down.
I finished most of my homework except for literature, damn you teacher. I began putting the books on the table when Frank elbowed me.
"You done?"
"Kinda, I got only have lit left." I mumbled looking at him.
"Same, let's just ditch that." He smirked, knowing the peer presure would get to me.
"Okay fine. But what do you wanna do know?"
"Let's go for a walk or to the park or whatever."
"Ugh, you make me get dressed." I pouted and began to walk to my room.
"It's cold, get a jacket!" He called after me.
"Okay, sure, DAD." I yelled back.
I quickly got changed into black tight leggings with zippers at the bottom, a Grateful Dead t-shirt, and a plain black sweatshirt. I put on my converse and waltzed out.
"Okay let's go."

Frank linked his arm through mine as we skipped merrily to the park. Brisk air rushed around us as dead crisp leaves crunched beneath our feet.
We were just happily skipping along, not a care in the world. But I could tell something was bothering Frank.
"So anything happen at school?" I questiones trying to break the ice.
"No,nothing really, the normal hell hole that it normally is. I didn't see Gee leave school though, I'm kinda worried about him." Frank said looking at the ground.
I frowned and scooched a bit closer. "I'm sure he's fine." I tried to hide the anxiousness in my voice.
"You're probably right." He said trying to smile. I did the same. We walked a while further in silence.
The wind had picked up, forcing me to lean on Frank. He smirked but didn't object. I rolled my eyes and didn't boter moving; I was freezing and he was like a freaking heater.
In a distance there were several people, kicking someone on the ground. I tensed up, realising they all had on our school's football jerseys. Frank seemed to noticed and pulled me closer to him by putting an arm around me protectively.
"Who ever it is we have to help them." I whispered. He nodded.
"Yeah, let's get 'um from behind." He snicked evily. Before I could say anything he let go of me and ran behind a guy. He winked at me before leaping on to the dude's back, covering his eyes with his hands.
"Get the fuck off me!" The jock screamed moving from side to side in an attempt to throw Frank down.
"Never!" Frank shouted kicking the guy roughly in the crotch. He gasped and fell down to his knees in pain.
The other jocks stopped laughing and began crowding Frank.
"We got a trouble maker on our hands, kid?" One of them growled. Frank's witty smirk soon faded whne he realised how tall and muscular they are compared to him.
I paniced, then started thinking. I settled for one direct stratagey.
I slwly tip toed behind one of the group and tapped them on the shouder. He turned to face me confused. Then I punched him hard in the face.
He grunted in pain and wiped away the blood on his nose.
"You bitch!" He shouted lunging at me with fists. I jumped out of the way and kicked him in the stomach. He leaned over and dropped to the ground, moaning like an idiot. His friends didn't even look at me twice before charging at me.
Thankfully Frank came in. He began swinging madly at the guys and spewing curse words. His punches seemed fatal, enough to knock three out of the seven guys on the ground.
They finally managed to get to their feet and run back to their car. Frank took after them and left me alone witht he victim.
He was struggling to get up and was holding his stomach. His raven hair was spralled everywhere and the was blood on the fall leaves. I ran over and helped him get up.
"You okay there? Did we get here in time?" I asked hurridly. He coughed and some blood spewed on to the ground.
"I-I'm f-fine." He whispered moving his shoulder from my grasp. I recognized that voice.
"Gerard?" I asked timidly. He whipped his head up and stared into my eyes. His face showed shock and guilt, along with embarassment. His eyes went wide before he bolted away from me, down the street.
Frank was half-heartidly chasing him and calling his name, but he refused to turn around. I didn't bother running after them, I knew Gerard wasn't planning on coming back. After a block or so Frank came trudging back.
"I think he went home." He said sighing. I nodded and sighed back.
