Kai has always liked looking at the sky. Especially on nights with a new moon and the sky is clear and you can just see every star.
He's taken it upon himself to try and name all of them. He's made it a past time to create his own stories for why they're there. He's even made his own unique constellations that represent his friends.
Sky's was a cluster that shaped into a bird looking thing because of an inside joke between the two of them. Aka Sky once said if she were bird she'd attack all the people against the lgbtq+ community.
Miah's was almost shaped like a watch because whenever he thought of Miah, he thought of all the time they have spent together before they met the others.
For Blake it's a flame because they always have a fire burning in their eyes and when they are angry they seemingly take down everything in their path.
Quinn's is a flower. Like a flower, Quinn stands beautifully and brightens up any room she's in instantly.
Cole's. Cole's was an infinity sign. Because whatever happened he was always there. He's an infinity sign because infinity is forever and Kai wanted him to be his forever.
All this and more was talked about on one such day when it was only Kai and Cole laying in the grass, stealing kisses, and talking quietly so as not to ruin the atmosphere.
After describing what everyone's constellations meant, Cole noticed one was missing. "What about yours?"
Kai pouted a little at that. He'd never thought of himself in any of his previous starry night adventures. "I don't know. Never tried to find one."
Cole smirked and kissed the back of Kai's hand as he pointed up towards a random section of the sky. Gathered there was a cluster of stars literally in the shape of a star. Kai laughed at the irony and asked "why that one?"
Cole shrugged and said, "because that constellation of a star brings all those individual stars together to make them one big one. That constellation bosses the individual stars around so that they are they brightest constellation in the dark. And y'know since all the stars that make it up are tirelessly helping, they really reach that goal of shining the brightest don't they?"
Kai scoffed. "Wow you do have a heart. It's just buried under all your metaphors and puzzles and your mean words."
He was nudged in the side. "I love the cheesy side of you," he continued, pressing a kiss to Cole's neck."And I love all of you, my shining star." Cole said pulling Kai in closer as they continued gazing into the night.
Bonus:
"Y'know your analogy is pretty much for any constellation right?" Kai snickered into Cole's neck.
"Shut up dumbass I was trying to be all sappy." Cole said whilst turning his face away from the other male.
"N'awe I'm sorry for pointing it out. I'll make it up to you." He said with a suggestive lilt to his voice.
Cole turned towards him with his eyebrows raised and asked, "And how do you plan on doing that?"
Kai winked and stood up before running to the car and grabbing a speaker. He quickly set his phone up and played Ben Platt's (because come on he's the best) song 'Share your address'.
Cole groaned when it came on. "This is so not where I thought you were taking that."
Kai laughed maniacally and pulled Cole up to dance.
And there you have it folks. Two boys helplessly in love dancing in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere without a care in the world.

A/N- 619 words. Hey guys so I wanted to put this up before Pride month ended so it's not necessarily edited too much and I hope it makes sense jjdjsnab. Anyways it's just a fluffy little extra that I suggest reading because it's sappy and cute and it made my best friend cry. If I had any motivation I would have this as well as an actual chapter up by the 30th but I guess this will most likely have to do. Oh yeah! And the day this is being posted, I had reached 666 reads and I've literally been waiting for this moment for three days lmao. Again I hope you enjoy this story and I love you all 💙Also Happy Pride guys even though I'm really late and it's pretty much over 🌈
If you've read this far comment your favorite moment from the story so far. My favorite one to write was actually Blake's extra part fun fact.
