I groggily walked down the stairs to find everyone else already sitting around the dimly lit table. The only light shining in from outside.

"Hey look it's sleeping beauty, about time you woke up" Ashton teased, throwing me another bag of blood.
I glared at him suspiciously, "What happened to rationing what was left? Not trying to feed me bunny blood are you?"
"Not to worry, completely human as always." He assured me.
I opened the bag and started to drink, savoring the thick red liquid.

"Where are we with their memories?" I nodded towards Klaus and Elijah as I took another sip.
"Not close enough" Ashton paused groaning in frustration.
"They only remember her as an infant."
I ran my free hand through my hair, plopping on the empty couch.
"This is going to take longer than we thought.... wait you said they only regained memories of her as an infant? I thought we were trying to recover their most recent memories first."
"Yeah so did I, at this rate it could take weeks to restore everything."
"I guess this is our new home for a while" I muttered throwing the now empty bag on a nearby table, looking the room over.
"Hold on there sweetheart, in case you've forgotten we're on the run. Malivore is still after me, I refuse to fall victim to that beast again because you want to take your time returning daddies memories" the Necromancer growled, angrily eyeing us.
"Oh please, we've been living on the run most of our lives. We know how to stay hidden." Ashton growled back, showing his fangs.
"Not to mention Malivore is scared of us, and our scent is all over that cave. Hope might not of been able to destroy him but he knows we can." I shrugged.
"Well if you knew you could destroy him why didn't you?!" He yelled, slamming his fists on the table.
"Because we also know what he holds inside. There are beings far worse than him, releasing them holds a greater risk than letting their captor live." I replied vacantly, remembering how Kai took us to the facility where Malivore was previously held when we were kids. He made us read the files of every person, animal and creature that was absorbed. A chill creeped up my spine thinking about some of the monstrosities that lie inside.

"Then why the hell would Hope try to destroy him? And why didn't it work?" Klaus questioned, brows furrowed.
"She didn't know, she only ever came into contact with a handful of them. And they were nothing compared to what he could've sent." Ashton stated coldly.
"We don't know why it didn't work, we think it's because she doesn't have her vampire powers yet. All of our powers are unlocked, which as far as we know is why he's so scared of us." I finished.
Klaus took a deep breath, "why didn't you stop her?"
Ashton and I shared a knowing glance.
"Hope doesn't know we exist. She thinks she's the only tribrid."
The room grew quiet, everyone seeming to think over what they just learned, Ashton and I remaining silent as to avoid being bombarded with anymore questions.

Luckily for us the Necromancer gave in, letting us stay in the house until they had at least most of their memories back. With each day we were able to keep the spell going longer, their memories gradually returning, even faster than expected. It wouldn't be long before we could start coming up with new plans to try and get Hope back.

Things were finally going our way. That was until a week later.

I woke up to loud growls along with the sounds of shattering glass, and furniture being thrown coming from downstairs. I instantly jumped out of bed, racing down the stairs. I was already in my wolf form by the time I made it to the living room.

My eyes darted around the room taking in the scene. Furniture was scattered everywhere, blood was splattered across the walls. Ashton was in his wolf form, his fur matted with blood, he was pinning something, wait no, someone to the floor a deep growl echoing throughout the room.

I finally caught a brief glimpse of Ashton's victim. Instantly recognizing him, he was a recruiter for that school Hope went to. The Salvatore school.

I was frozen in place when a pained scream brought me back into reality. I charged, shoving my brother off the vampire, wrestling him to the ground. A deep growl rumbling from the back of my throat, I bared my teeth threateningly. He looked at me with confusion as he returned to his human form.

"What the fuck Phoenix?! It's me." He shouted trying to shove me off. I continued to growl as my gaze shifted to the vampire on the floor. He was bleeding profusely, Ashton bit him during the fight rendering his healing abilities useless. If he didn't get the cure within the next twelve or so hours he'd die.

I stared daggers into my brother while returning to my human form.

"I know it's you, you moron," I growled angrily slapping him in the back of the head, causing him to flinch, rubbing where I'd just hit.

Immediately I bit into my own arm and sat beside the vampire putting the fresh wound to his mouth. "Drink, it'll help." I said softly. He looked absolutely horrified but complied nonetheless, grabbing my arm weakly with both hands he sunk his fangs into my flesh.

As he drank my blood his wounds began to heal and the color returned to his face. I could feel his strength slowly return.

I glared at Ashton the entire time silently scolding him. As I gently brushed my free hand through the vampires hair in attempts to soothe him.

Once he finished he released my arm, I stood up only to see him staring at Ashton and I.

"What the hell are you?" He asked curiously, slightly tilting his head to the side.
