Destruction was running through my veins

Life
Literally everything

Then you showed up when I wasn't looking
You brought sunshine
You brought feelings that I thought didn't exist anymore
You brought everything I needed

I let you knock down the walls
I let you push me farther
My grades went up
My happiness skyrocketed

You were happy
I was happy
We were happy

Then you relapsed

It started off small
I thought I had the powers that would bring you back to sobriety

Your smile started to fade
You changed right before my eyes
My possessions I worked so hard for vanished without a trace
The dates went from dinner to drug runs
The sex started as passion and ended as drug induced assault

I told you when I fell that I was scared you wouldn't catch me
You promised you would
I was tired of getting hurt
You promised me you would make sure I was happy no matter what
I wanted a future
You promised me always

Now i know promises are just lies in disguise
You're my demon

Every fiber of my love and happiness is gone
My walls are bulletproof because i refuse to let this happen again
You destroyed me .. and you.. You're able to just move on
Because out of all things you ran away and
