A poem I wrote for a poetry game.
Society tries to tell us what to think
It tries to tell us who we can or cannot be
If we do not fit their standards we are shot down
We are hunted for our oddities
For our quirks
Society is a hostile system
Only the strong survive
Only the strong break the boundaries
The bonds that keep us from being ourselves
There are stories of children who disappear
Society twists their minds to make them believe they are the problem
When in reality it is the toxic group of people who make up the society
It is tragic isn't it?
When people hide who they really are?
No one is safe from society's attacks
Unless
Society can change its act
