Poem number four in my collection of ten poems about disorders. This is about D.I.D (Dissociative Identity Disorder).
Hi, Welcome to my life!
I'm practically normal as anyone can see.
Living a lie that is the key.
So nobody knows that I am a we.Hello! I am another person living in this body.
When things get to hard that's when I start to embody.
I'm the most bossy out of everybody.
I work really hard to get stuff done.
But the others say that I am no fun.
Just don't get me mad.
Or that would be bad.
But I think it's time you should meet my other comrade.Um hi, Hello, I am the last person you shall meet.
So let's keep things simple and sweet.
When thrust into a situation of the unknown,
That's when I start to take the control.
When faced with a threat,
I am the one most likely to sweat.
I put us under lockdown.
As I try not to have a breakdown.Sometimes the others and I argue a lot.
Over who should have the prime spot.
It's not easy being a we.
As you have read now you can see.
But when we all get along that causes glee.
If others knew about our situation they would flee.
So we stick together.
Like birds of a feather.
No matter the weather.Together we make up an entire being.
It also helps when we are all agreeing.
And letting us out can be a bit freeing.
But you'll never know which one you'll be seeing.
What we do know is that you'll be fleeing.
When you discover our disorder's true meaning.
