Chapter 5

Nico

Nico paused in mid-sentence and heard Will groan. What's with him? Nico thought, does he really want to know what I said? But I'm glad I got interrupted, I can't believe I was about to tell him that I liked him too.

Will walled over to the door and opened it to see Annabeth and Percy. Nico saw them, and felt started nervous. I wonder why they're here? I hope it isn't to talk about my confession. Nico thought to himself. Ugg, that would be so embarrassing, especially if Will is here. Maybe I can get him to leave? But, should I?

"Hi Annabeth, Percy," Nico said.

"Hello Nico and Will. I hope we weren't interrupting something," Annabeth said, looking between Will and Nico.

"Nothing important, we can talk later right Will? Don't you have other patients to take care of?" Nico asked.

"Umm, yeah. I'll see you later Nico. See you later Percy, Annabeth," Will waved as he walked out the door.

There was silence between the three, as Nico nervously looked between Annabeth, Percy and the ground.

Finally Annabeth broke the silence, "So what were you two talking about?"

"Uhh, nothing much. Did you know Jason and Piper was over here before?" Nico replied, trying to change the subject.

"Yeah, they were blabbering something about you, Will and a kiss? Do you have anything to say about that?" Annabeth asked, with a twinkle in her eye.

"Wh-what do you mean?"

"Did. You. And. Will. Kiss?"

"No-no, Will kissed my forehead. Jason saw us and thought something was happening."

"So nothing?" Annabeth said, her voice filling with disappointed. "Oh man, you two would've been so cute together."

"Hey!" Nico protested, "Will and I aren't together. Plus I don't know if he even likes me."

"Well we support you, with what ever choice you make. Right?" Annabeth asked.

"Right Percy?" Annabeth asked again while elbowing her boyfriend.

"Umm yeah, of course," Percy looked nervous. "Look Nico, I'm sorry I was acting so weirdly before and now. It just came as a shock. I didn't know your feelings and I should've realized before, instead of making thing awkward for you. So I really don't know what to say. But I want us to be cool. So I'm going to be your biggest supporter and friend." Percy said cracking a smile.

"We will both support you, not just my seaweed filled brain boyfriend here."

"Hey!" Percy exclaimed.

"Thanks," Nico said smiling, feeling better, that him and Percy were cool now. Maybe they're right and I should give Will a chance. I do like him a lot and would enjoy being his friend. Plus he is kinda cute. Nico thought blushing.

"Think about someone special?" Percy asked.

"Wh-what? Umm, no, I-I haven't liked anyone since, well you," Nico stammered.

"Since my boyfriend is out of the picture, what are going to do now?" Annabeth asked.

"Maybe find a cute guy, or something?" Percy jokes.

"Well since Percy here isn't interested, I guess I'll have to find someone else," Nico fake sighed. Happy to relax with friends and loosen the tension between them.

"Yup, no ones aloud to take my boyfriend," Annabeth said, smiling.

"Guys, stop fighting over me. I'm not that cute," Percy protested.

"Please, you're the first cute boy I've met," Nico jokes. "You're so cute, I could-"Suddenly there was a bang outside of the door.

"What was that?" Nico asked.

"I don't know," Percy replied.

"I'll go look, if you two keep on talking," Annabeth huffed as she stalked over to the door. Opening it, she saw nothing, but a cart with food on it for lunch.

Turning back to the boys she said, "looks like someone brought us food. I wonder who?"

"Hmmm," Nico said, as Annabeth brought the cart in and shut the door. "I guess we can eat. I thought Will was going to join us."

"Thinking about Will?" Percy teased.

"Hey!" Nico explained.

"Well do you like Will?"

"I don't know, he's really nice, and a really good healer. Plus I enjoy our bantering, and being around with him. But I don't know if he feels the same way," Nico said sadly.

"You should talk to him and let him know how you feel."

"Did that work for you, with Annabeth?"

"I guess, she seems to like me. Right Annabeth," Percy said winking.

"Let's just eat," Annabeth grumbled. The boys exchanges high fives and laughed. Then they started eating together.
