Reevaluating the situation, Zhao Yunlan peeked through the doorway, where he and Shen Wei had taken cover. Two men really did run away after witnessing the power of the Black Cloak Envoy, another three were made unable to continue fighting by their friendly fire-using Enhanced, who took cover along with the children behind wooden boxes in a far away corner near the big exit to the East. They looked mostly unharmed, only the Enhanced was limping.

He didn't see Da Qing but he was thankfully far away from where Shen Wei managed to collapse the scaffolding. And Chu Shuzhi was crawling to a better position behind the metal podium.

The detective quickly hid his head again, just before a bullet graced the door frame. He checked his gun, then looked at his Black Cloak Envoy.

Shen Wei's face was distorted in a painful grimace, but he wasn't clutching the bullet wound in his shoulder, so most of the hurt probably wasn't physical. Zhao Yunlan quickly undid his own belt and in a few seconds managed a make-shift compress to slow down his lover's bleeding.

"Shen Wei, I need you now. Will you make it?" He forced Shen Wei gently to look up at him by pulling his chin. The eyes of the Envoy fixed themselves in the blazing fox-fire eyes of the Chief of the SID, full of adrenaline and excitement before a battle and he faintly nodded.

"Good Envoy," Zhao Yunlan smirked and quickly pecked those rosy lips before taking another look through the opened door. Three men were closing in on them, he quickly fired several times to stop their advance, then reloaded in a speed of light.

"Listen, Shen Wei, we have three guys on the left and your brother, there should be one more on the right, I don't have a good position to take down that one, so let's hope our friendly fireman manages that or he can pretty much sneak up on us. Two of those three on our left are Enhanced. One, I believe, is able to harden his skin or something, that's the one with bleached hair. The other..."

Before he could finish his sentence, he noticed a blurr of white that appeared next to them. But Shen Wei was faster than his brother quickly grabbing Yunlan by his arm, teleporting them to the Eastern corner behind the wooden boxes to the kids.

Zhao Yunlan felt a strong wave of nausea at the sudden speedy transport but steadied himself fast and quickly ordered. "LinJing, lights out NOW!"

A second after the whole storage room drawned in darkness. The children gasped and eeped quietly, the youngest ones starting to cry.

"Fuck, I hate teleportation skills..." Zhao Yunlan mumbled, his statement heavily nuancing two different meanings. "Your vessel isn't light, right, Shen Wei?"

"No," the Black Cloak Envoy muttered, holding onto his detective, scanning the surroundings with his hightened senses. He could see quite well, even in the absolute darkness. All of Ye Zun's men were stumbling around, Chu sent out his strings in various directions, holding onto the ends and navigated himself along them, also he was able to pinpoint anyone who managed to bump into his net, quickly binding one guy as soon as he graced his hand over the surface of the string.

Shen Wei looked to the other side, seeing Da Qing move cautiously and silently, and one of the mafia goons having the same strategy only about 2 meters away from the Yashou, both almost back-to-back now. Shen Wei reacted fast, sending a wave of telekinetic energy to throw the guy down. He hissed, swearing loudly which showed Da Qing his exact position and his cat eye-sight was then able to register the fact that the guy's handgun flew away and the master cat jumped at him with his human body and cat claws, quickly making the man unable to fight anymore.

Zhao Yunlan rummaged around his pockets, taking out and quickly wearing his night vision. "Okay, you know, it's actually 50/50 that your brother moves through light. Either that or we just fucked ourselves up pretty bad," he grinned and aimed at the nearest Triad member, about 10 meters away from them and pulled the trigger. Another one down.
