Right away: SORRY, no new side-story, just boring author's notes!!!
About a year ago, I have promised some epilogue notes and Q&As but since no one submitted any questions, I took very long to write this... XP
Shen Wei's powers:
Healing/regenerative powers - he's able to quicken the natural regenerative abilities of living cells; costs a lot of energy, very tiring; mainly works on wounds, not really illnesses; a very rare power
side effects: speeding up the regeneration too much can lead to a lesser quality and underdevelopment of the tissue; a probable side effect is a higher risk of cancer in a later lifeTransportation - Shen Wei uses air/wind as a main source of transport; needs a clear, unblocked passageway between the two places, maximum distance 100 metres, another very exhausting power
side effects: since this power needs the user to dematerialize themselves then if they exhaust themselves too much, they might be unbable to rematerialize themselves again (observed on Enhanced being chased by law mostly)"Telekinesis" - his first power that he actually trained for attack, with Jan's help, he was able to obtain it during his European stay, it's actually another wind-based power and a one that Shen Wei is the least satisfied with, he can only use it for very basic attacks; a rather common power
Freezing - the first one he learnt from a student, it was to help the temperamental youngster tame a very dangerous weapon but it quickly became his favourite sneak attack/get away power
side effects: Shen Wei's body is not adapted to his learnt powers as are the bodies of Enhanced who have only one, so while Yong Qiu doesn't feel cold, nor can he get frost bite while using his powers, Shen Wei canLessened sensitivity towards exhaustion and pain - another power he learnt from his student, a much needed power to cover his escape if he gets wounded, it is not meant to be able to continue the fight even through many injuries
side effects: this power lasts only for a certain period of time, then the sensations come all at once; a danger comes from not feeling exhaustion, his body itself is a big indicator of how much energy for using other powers he has leftMagnetism - he is able to manipulate any ferromagnetic object, he decided to learn this power of his student after seeing several superhero movies where the heroes or villains used this power in very interesting ways (he's not a fan of superhero movies but uses them as a refference)
side effects: very dangerous if not used expertly, you can as well get stabbed by anything ferromagnetic in close proximity; if needed, Shen Wei cannot get any magnetizable implants in his bodyHightened senses - this is sort of debatable whether it is something Shen Wei obtained as a special power or a set of skills that he had honed over the years of training, he certainly doesn't remember learning this of another Enhanced knowingly
side effects: hightened senses mean hightened sensitivity to anything sexy Zhao Yunlan does, willingly or not; whether his emotional instability is also connected to this is debatable* * *
Shards of the original series... I really did try to incorporate as many mentions of things feom the original series. I'm not sure if anyone noticed. XD Like Zhao Yunlan feeling he must be blessed with Shen Wei, so he must have saved the whole humanity or something in his previous life... and many more. Afterall, this is a reincarnation story. I've always liked the concept of reincarnation. I know the main princip isn't to keep getting reincarnated but that's what I would find fun - if I believed. In anything. X3

Phantom of the Opera as a ringtone! Somehow this was one of my notes when I went through the whole fanfic once again to know what to write about in the Q&A. Yeah, at this moment Zhao Yunlan doesn't know Shen Wei is The Black Cloak Envoy and he might have some suspicions about him but he's definitely in denial at this point. Or wants to be. Why this ringtone... I think if you listen to the original, it's pretty obvious. It is a cherry on top that author incorporated because it seemed to fit but why would Shen Wei sort of give himself away like this? Maybe he actually wanted someone to discover him?

Smoking! Zhao Yunlan himself has already decided it's not good for him before the start of Serum. Using lollipops as a needed distractions. Yet under stress he falls into the bad habbit again and again. But in the end, he doesn't want to overworry the worrisome Shen Wei, so he definitely quits.

I think I mentioned my view on Ye Zun in this series and in the original several times in the post script notes. In Serum, he was a brutal, evil psychopath. The least I could have done for him, was to kill him swiftly. Was it all due to what he came through as a child and young adult? Did he have tendencies for that even as a child? We might never know. But I personally think that the powers themselves do reflect the personality of their owner. Shen Wei could learn the powers without harming anyone. Ye Zun needed to kill the person to extract their powers from them. Which brings us to the next point!
Ye Zun's power! Yep, right there is a plot hole. I have to say, I am reminded of Scum Villain's Self-Saving System here. XD To not interrupt the main story much, I didn't describe Ye Zun's side story more. Not like I don't have an insight in that. But I really didn't want anyone to sympathize with him... and I generally don't like meanies who kill Shen Wei!!! Boo!!! It's funny 'cause they were both played by Zhu Yilong and I see them as totally different people, not to ever be confused. XD
But I don't think it's bad to sympathize with him. I mean, Shen Wei does. XD Well, mostly he blames himself for what happened to Ye Zun, for how he must have suffered, as well as he feels responsible for the bad deeds his Didi had done. So on one hand he would love to turn back time and save him. On the other, he knows, he must be the one to bear the sin of ending his own brother's evilness. And while he's torn appart these two, there comes Zhao Yunlan who helps push Shen Wei in the right direction during the last battle. But not like pushing him forward but more like taking his hand and leading him.
Am I making sense still or not anymore??? XD

And Michael! I actually really liked him. Yes, he broke up with Zhao Yunlan to get "normally married" and get a promotion (which I had put here mainly on the account of China's stupid views on many things that aren't an issue in many other parts of the world) but they broke up as two adults in a not-so-messy way. He's a good guy in his heart and definitely a great father to his 2 kids. When he comes to see Zhao Yunlan in the hospital, he means well. He doesn't know the true relashionship between Zhao Yunlan and Shen Wei and other details. He's smart though, so he does suspect a thing or two. Here Zhao Yunlan goes a bit overboard with the threat. But I think they both understand the emptiness of it and how it was more used to prove how Zhao Yunlan truly cares for the Black Cloak Envoy. And sorry for mixing up the divisions... I know nobody noticed, but anyway!!!

And lastly The Black Cloak Envoy... no, it's not a similarity on The Black Robe Envoy as we all know Shen Wei to be... it was a mistake right at the beginning. I know a few people pinpointed it right away but I was a starting writer here and was too embarrassed to admit the obvious mistake. XD But you know how translations work... maybe if you look at the original Mandarin, maybe it could be translated as such? I have no idea! XD ❤
Anyway, this seems like enough! Feel free to throw disscussions at me, to not agree or agree and stuff. Also if you want a specific theme for another side-story - this is the place to mention it!!!
