"Beh?"

"Hmm?" I turned around and saw her worried face.

"I just hope we get to be classmates this school year. You know our school."

I just crossed my fingers and we both smiled at my gesture. She's right. My school 'wants to promote socialization' so every school year, they change our classmates so our batch would develop some kind of closeness. It doesn't really matter to me. I get along with other people pretty well. My issue is Jho. It's not that she doesn't mingle with our batchmates. It's just that I wanna be with her. Like mostly, if not all the time.

I wonder what's in store for us today.

I walked with her to the bulletin board. The list for the school year is already up. I ran my finger along the paper of Section B. I saw my surname so I traced it further below and thank heavens!

"Beh! We're classmates! I bounced up and down like a kid who just won a bag of candies. Jho tried to stop me because our batchmates were eyeing me.

"Uy stop that! People are already looking."

"I don't care. Let's go to our room!"

She nodded and we trod along the stairs leading to the second floor of the building. As we entered the classroom, a few people were already seated so I led her to two vacant seats beside each other.

"Which do you prefer? Right or left?"

"Right?"

"Okay. 'Cause you always are." I tried to tone it down a bit yet she heard it anyway.

"Hey! I'm not always right."

"Oh please." I rolled my eyes and exhaled loudly. "Can we please not have this conversation? I just want to start this year on a good note."

She didn't respond so I'm guessing Jho doesn't want to argue. I started putting out my binder and pens.

"You don't have a notebook?" She casually asked.

"I just think it's more convenient to bring a binder."

"We're still in high school, beh. We got lots of notes. It won't fit there."

"But I got you! I'm sure you'll be copying everything. You have the most beautiful handwriting I have ever seen." I even batted my eyes to convince her.

"Bahala ka. Mabagal ako magsulat."

"That's okay. Teamwork tayo! I complete the notes, you write it decently. If we're lucky, we'll make money out of people who need them." I smirked as I wiggled my eyebrows up and down. She shook her head and laughed because honestly, my idea was ridiculous yet feasible.

I sat straight when the teacher came into the room. Since it was the first day of class, she introduced herself and the subject she'll be teaching. She also discussed some requirements and future projects with her.
