Ch. 11 Goodbye for now

Izanami's POV

" Today's the day, Izanami. " Hiro said, brushing my hair. " I know. I'm not a retard. " I said, holding back my tears. " You're worried for them, aren't you? More like they should be the ones worried for you. " Hiro told me. " They don't have to, Hiro. I have you to protect me, as a racket, and as a friend. " I responded. " I know. " As he finishes brushing my hair, we grabbed our luggage, placing them in the black limo. " It's time, chibi-chan. " Nii-san said, hugging me tightly. " Take care of Toshi-chan for me, and get Shoichi to move back home. " I told him, in a monotone so that my sadness won't be noticed.

 " Alright.. " He responds. We went inside the limo as we got driven to the airport. " Izanami, look behind you. " Hiro says. I turned, to see everyone except Akaya. " Everyone, what are you..? " I stopped, being lost in words. " We came to say goodbye, idiot. " Jackal said, huffing, he was looking at the other direction to prevent tears. " Izanami-chan, take care, alright? " Seiichi-kun says, patting my head. " Yeah... " I then hear a whine. " Izanami~ You're not going to introduce me to them? " Hiro whines. " Oh. Izanami's racket. " Yanagi pointed out. " How did you know?! " Me and Hiro asked, in unison. " Basically, me and Yagyuu followed you yesterday. So you're a member of the befallen along with Atobe Keigo-kun's sister, Atobe Katsumi-san. " Yagyuu explained. " Gosh. Oh well, this is Kosuke Hiroyuki. I call him Hiro and he's a complete idiotic boy. He's a great racket and friend though~ " I exclaimed, proudly. " I see. " Seiichi-kun murmurs. " Don't forget to prank people there in memory of us, Komatsu! " Niou said semi-shouting, with fake bravery.

" Psh. Yeah, I will. " I said, grinning. " Let's give her our gifts now, Yukimura? This cake is heavy~! " Marui pouted. Seiichi-kun chuckles and nods. Marui handed me a huge box of cake. " What the--? " I was shook. " Heh. Eat it once you get there! " He reminds me. I nod. Sanada gave me a kendo stick..? " Stay strong and don't be soft.. " He muttered. " Ah. Yeah, I will. " I said. Seiichi-kun.. hands me a... bouquet of Dahlias. " These are your favorite flowers though.. " I said, forcing a laugh. He chuckles. " I know. That's to remember me with. I don't want you forgetting me when you're in the states. " He reasons. I smiled and nodded.

I did not know the reason of it but
after spending time with you, I now know

Yanagi gives me a notebook that says ' Izanami Komatsu's Data ' " What the--? " I got cut off. " It has all your data I observed ever since we were first years. Actually, there's 1000 pages. " He exclaims. I blinked my eyes. " No no, you should keep it. You need it for your data tennis. " I said, smiling with a sweat drop. " I know it won't help, but I suggest you read it on the plane. It'll probably help on your counters to cover up the flaws in your play, Izanami. " Yanagi says. I nodded, smiling. " Thank you, Yanagi. " I thanked him. Yagyuu then went up to me and gave me a video tape. " Huh..? " I mumbled. " That's the memories we had together. The whole rikkai team formed into one video. You should watch it on weekends. " He explains. I nodded, and smiled. " Thank you, Yagyuu! " I thanked him, he smiles and nods. Niou gives me some kind of device that summons.. ghosts? " Is this for pranks, Niou? " I asked, he smirks. " You know it. " Was his response, he had a shaky yet forced voice. Like he was forcing himself to be brave. Jackal tossed me a grip tape. " I did some research and it was stated to be the bandage of living rackets. " He told me. I nodded. Urayama walks up to me and gives me a hug..? " You're like a big sister to me, thank you senpai de yansu! " He states. I smiled and patted his back. I let go as Akaya came, panting. " Akaya, you look tired.. " I murmured. He smirked. " It was for training that I ran all the way here, senpai! " He exclaims, proudly. He then gives me a pair of new rubber shoes. " Ah. Thank you, Akaya. " I thanked him, smiling.

" Shall we talk until it's time for you to go to the plane, Izanami-chan? " Asked Seiichi-kun. I nodded. " Sure.. So.. " I cut myself off by patting his head. " Good luck on the Kanagawa Prefectuals and in the Kantou Regionals.. I'll try to be back at the Kantou Regionals atleast.. " I said. He smiled and nodded.

Even by just remembering you, my chest tightens
that even if you are far way, you are giving me happiness

I stretched my arms, taking my Rikkai jersey off and tossed it to Seiichi-kun. " But what shall you use in your tournament, Izanami-chan? " He questions. " My befallen jersey. I want you to keep my Jersey until I return, alright? " I said, smiling bravely. He nodded but couldn't smile. " Smile for me, will ya? " I asked. His eyes widened but nodded, smiling.

Whether your smiling face in front of me is real or a lie,

" Plane to New York! Departing in 5 minutes! " I heard; Hiro placed his hand on my shoulder. " Say your goodbyes. " He said, softly. Not wanting me to cry. " Goodbye, everyone. Seiichi-kun, Geni-chan, forgive me for what I'm going to do as I'll risk my life to win this tournament against that person that I'll place my life on the line to defeat, the person that caused the reason why Nii-san had to be replaced from the befallen or else he'll get targeted. The reason why when I came back, Nii-san had a broken arm. I'm.. sorry.. " I managed to say, as tears roll down my face. " Izanami, I told you to not cry, remember? We'll defeat this dude. And if he tries hurting you in any way, I'll get the befallen members to end him. " I heard a voice say, I turned to see Vice-Captain and the others standing there. " We can't just let you go without seeing you for one last time. " Haruka said, smiling. 

I squat alone, your words, your gestures
even the times I am simply remembering those

" Izanami! " I turned again to see Katsumi. She ran up towards me and hugged me. " Katsumi.. I thought you had Saturday practice in Hyotei? " I asked. " Big brother canceled it for me. " She reasons. I nodded.

" The plane's departing! See you all! I'll be sure to call every now and then! " I said, running off as Hiro carried and dragged all the luggage.
