Bucky was lounging around the Stark Tower when he got a call. Picking up his phone, he saw the caller ID was Makayla.
He picked up and with a warm tone greeted her.
"Buck, I got some bad news." She sighed. It was his first time hearing her call him Buck.
"What's wrong?" He headed away from Sam who was nonchalantly listening to their conversation.
"The receptionist, the one who always checks you in, she's on to us. She told me she saw us in the mall Friday and she was the one who knocked on the door that one time." Makayla explained. Bucky rubbed his beard in stress.
"Well what do we do then?" Bucky asked nervously.
"We could continue your therapy outside of my office, and you can say you're better. I mean, frankly, you are doing much better. For a patient such as yourself, this recovery has been much faster than I anticipated." She suggested.
"That's fine by me." Bucky's hands drifted from his beard.
"Ok. I'll fill out your paperwork. You can stop by at your normal time today to sign it all. It basically just says that you know you're doing better and you are free to be without therapy." Bucky liked how intelligent her words sounded.
"Got it. Hey, you'll get to see my haircut! It's scheduled for today." Bucky smiled into the phone.
"No way! How short are you getting it?" He could tell by the way she talked that she was smiling.
"You'll see." He knew she would be excited, and he hoped she liked what he planned to get.
"Damn, sometimes I hate you." She grumbled.
"You wish you could, goldie. See you at 4." He smiled into his phone.
"Bye babe." Her nickname made his heart giddy.
He hung up and grabbed his keys, sprinting out the door after realizing his hair appointment was in less than 10 minutes.
After busting through the doors, his appointment started and within a few minutes his chair was surrounded with his hair. He refused to look in the mirror until it was over, but when he did, he didn't even try to recognize himself.
His facial hair was gone and his hair was short and...blonde. Not bright blonde or anything, but his hair dresser had gone a little crazy with the highlights.
