Part 9: A Danger

We walked down the street with Simon complaining, Jasmine rolling her eyes and me taking in the surrounding world.

"the mall is a few blocks away we don't need a cab," Jasmine huffed 

"But the humans are disgusting," Simon groaned as a family walked by and he pulled a face ending with pride pulling his hair. He gasped and restyled it to how it was before.

"Behave, or ill take that precious collection of yours and throw it in the ocean," she threatened and Simon gasped, I was curious

"Collection?" I quirried

"the less you know the better," he growled "Wouldn't want your kind finding it and taking it," he scoffed

"Oh, okay," I said shyly seeing I stepped over a line

"Don't worry, Damien," Pride said softly "The man-child is possessive, that's why he was so desperate to put you off Austin before," She whispered in my ear and he didn't catch a word

I giggled and we continued to walk. As the other two spoke I began to think. Perhaps involving myself with Austin is a bad idea, I can be caught in the middle of all of it and it doesn't sound fun. Austin is so nice and charming however and he just incises everyone around him, I have so many foreign urges that are against my beliefs but they're so tempting. Like that night in his room I wanted to pull him in and feel his lips against mine but alas, his heart belongs to many and hasn't got much love to share. I sighed as I thought

That house seems to be connected romantically to someone, even though they don't realise it its strange, they don't discuss it it perhaps they just don't while I'm around because they can hear if I'm judging them or so on, they maybe scared, i need to show that they can trust me if I'm gonna gain any understanding during my eternity on this earth.

We reached the Mall and we crossed at the cross walk to be on the right side of the road and pride took my hand and walked me in I was confused at the contact but enjoyed her soft skin against my scarred hand.

"Today the Mall is packed, so I want to know where you are at all times since you don't know this place very well," She spoke softly by my ear, you couldn't see into the mall just yet so I was confused to how she knew the capacity of the area 

"Jaz? how do you know?" I asked curiously

"Demon," she answered vaguely not giving me much information

"Will I ever get more explanation?" I asked

"Yes, we you become more like us and you aren't a danger to us," Greed growled while scowling at me, Jaz struck his arm and he gritted his teeth once he realised what he had said

I stopped in my tracks and looked at them both as they stopped to and looked to me

"D-Danger? how am I a danger? I wouldn't want to be any trouble, I'm so lucky I was taken in by you guys, I would never think to throw that away," I stammered

"Listen, Damien, it's not something you can control, this is why we wanted to show you our ways slowly, but right now you still have godly power over us since your days on earth have yet to strip them away, it takes time and until that has begun to start we still have to protect ourselves from you, don't take it personally...your not the first fallen we've taken in and been too vulnerable with," Jasmine sighed

"We can't afford another risk like that," Simon rubbed the back of his neck as he spoke the mood obviously depressed now

"Oh, I'm sorry I had no idea, would it be better if we just dropped this? would that make things easier for you two?" I asked and they both nodded softly.

Hot topic was the first store we stepped into, the mood was drastically better and there were a lot more smiles from the two and it was a lot less awkward

"What's your plan?" Simon asked her

"I was thinking that we go into every store that has a certain style and pick one outfit and take them all home and try them on you each day, by the end of the week you can decide what you feel confident, comfortable and attractive in then both Simon and I will take the style of that one outfit you liked and create a whole wardrobe for you," She smiled at me and I smiled right back "plus a few other things while were here so it's not just a boring clothes shopping trip for you,"

"So styles that we need are..." Simon thought "Elegant, like you and I, Gothic/indie I'm guessing that's why you've pulled us in here, sporty would be one, eccentric aka fashion show catwalk craziness, minimalistic  .... feminine and masculine?"

"I was thinking more geeky rather than masculine but the rest you hit the nail on the head," She giggled and walked with me around the shop as we picked out an outfit that I would probably wear today

As we shopped around Hot Topic Jasmine's phone began to ring and she sighed and picked it up 

"Hello, whats up honey? ... at the mall ... three hours maybe? why is everything okay? ... oh, I'm sorry, take the day off and I'll look after you when I get home okay?... okay ... stay with gutter," She ended the call "Teddy is upset about something but please don't ask about it," 

"I'm sure he wasn't even thinking of doing it, is it what I think it is?" Simon asked and I nodded to his first statement

"Exactly that," she sighed "He's been doing our finances the last week so i've told him to leave it for today, are you okay picking that up when we get back? there's a certain way we do it and Ted has it written down so you have no reason to worry about doing it wrong," pride asked and Simon nodded in response
