{Alright leafs! This is a first, a collab with none other than the wonderful chello_8893 ! This is a team effort, I will be playing Levy and she will be playing Gajeel.}

Lady McGarden,

Sorry about the informal title, m’lady. I’m afraid I don’t know your name. To be honest, I shouldn’t be writing to you at all. Hell, I don’t even know why I am. Uh, sorry about the language.

You don’t know me, and I’m not really surprised, seeing as how we come from such different worlds. I was the man driving your carriage this morning, the one who grabbed your arm to balance you when you slipped on the step.

At first, I had no idea who you were, so I wouldn’t have thought twice about just introducing myself in person. However, I realized quickly that the man with you was Sir McGarden, the head of the McGarden clan. And you are his oldest daughter, I assume. Either that, or a very young wife. (I hope that’s not the case, because I’ll feel like an idiot if you’re already married.)

Anyways, I’m Gajeel Redfox. I don’t belong to a rich clan. I’m not some noble samurai (though I am pretty good with a sword). I’m just an ordinary man.

I take work where I can get it, and live in a simple home. It’s probably a lot smaller than even your kitchen. I have a cat named Pantherlily—a scarred stray who lived on the streets for a long time, much like myself.

Well, I don’t really know what else to say. Perhaps apart from the fact that I can’t get you out of my head, Lady McGarden. I know that’s a bold statement, but it’s a true one. That’s why I wrote this letter. While I waited for you and Sir McGarden at the meeting of the samurai, all I could think about was that soft blue hair, those hazel eyes, and that warm smile that only you have ever shown me.

If you don’t write back, I won’t be surprised. Actually, I’d be surprised if youdid.

But, if you do, I am scheduled to drive your carriage again tomorrow morning.

Yours,

Gajeel Redfox

I blushed lightly as I read over the letter for the fifth time since arriving home. I sat at the window in my home as I imagined the gentleman who drove our carriage. He was definitely rough, his raven hair was long and pulled back, his eyes the most brilliant crimson I had ever seen and his hand, the one that caught me, had been calloused and yet gentle. I smiled again as I read where he hoped that it was my father and not my husband I was with.

" What's on there that's got you so smiley?" A voice said from the door, making me jump slightly. I turned to see none other than my best friend Lucy Heartfillia.  Her long blonde hair was pulled into a bun at her neck, two pearl white sticks poking out of the top, and she wore the same blue and pink kimono that she wore at the meeting. She came and sat beside me, leaning over lightly. I tried to hide the letter but she easily snatched it from me.

" Lu-chan!" I gasped as my face turned red and I tried to snatch it back. Her eyes grew wide and she stared at me, her shock giving me a chance to snag the letter. " Levy, your not writing him back are you?" She asked in a harsh whisper. " Well... I thought about it." I mumbled and she gasped. " Levy!" I frowned at her. " Well why not Lucy? I mean... he was very nice, and he was handsome... And," "Levy, your classes are too different! The daughter of a samurai and a carriage driver? He even says his house is pathetic!" She nearly cried.

" He does not say that." I grumbled. She sighed and rubbed the bridge of her nose. " Look, I know that you were meeting potential husbands, but I don't think this is what your father had in mind." She said and I frowned. The very meeting where I met this man, was the first meeting I was allowed to attend with my father, now that I was of age. It was also a meeting to arrange a marriage between me and another clan. " Not like I have a choice." I said sadly as I looked back out at the stary sky.

Lucy sighed lightly and wrapped an arm around my shoulders. " You want to write him back?" I nodded slightly. " Well... What will it hurt?" I peeked up at her to see her grinning at me and I couldnt help but smile back. She stood, brushing off her kimono and started for the door. " Just don't get yourself in trouble Lev." She said softly and I nodded. " I won't Lu-chan. " I said with a soft smile. She smiled back and once I was alone I grabbed my stationary, writing back to the dark haired man known only as, Gajeel Redfox.
