Also, what I said last chapter doesn't apply to this one. It might apply in the future, though.

Just like that, we were at the mall.
As in we, I mean Jeremy, Michael, and me.
"Are you sure you wanna do this, Jeremy?" I asked.
"Y-yeah. I just wanna be cool. It's not like I'll give you guys up or something," Jeremy fiddled with his thumbs. I rolled my eyes in my head.
"Anyway, where are we even going?" Michael said.
"Payless. Rich said he knows a guy there," Jeremy pointed in the direction of a store near the food court.
"Shady much," I muttered as we started making our way down there. Michael looked impatient and Jeremy looked nervous and excited at the same time. I felt horrible, knowing exactly what would happen from this point on.
Yet, I felt the pill that Jake gave me burning a hole through my pockets (metaphorically speaking) as if demanding attention. I don't know if I should take it or just leave it there. It did seem kind of odd that Jake's squip told him to give me a squip. I mean, why me out of everyone else at this school?
Unless the squip knew that I wasn't from around here. (cue the SVTFOE theme song). Then, that would mean something.
"Hey, Y/N? You still with us?" Michael waved his hand in front of my face and I snapped back to reality.
"Y-yeah, totally. Just thinking," I winced inside of my head. I mean, I'm telling the truth, but not the whole truth.
"Anyway, do you wanna come with me or Jeremy," He motioned towards Jeremy, who was heading inside the store.
"Sorry, Michael. I'm gonna stick with Jeremy," I gave him an apologetic look before rushing inside Payless to follow Jeremy.
"..looking for Rack," Jeremy was talking to this Asian teenager with a Wolverine haircut, two oversize bangs, and short hair. He looked to be about 18ish, but that's just me guessing. (yes, I took that from the book. I'm using it as a reference right now.)
"Yeah," Rack said calmly.
"You're him?" asked Jeremy.
"Yeah."
"Hey."
"Hey," Rack looked over at me, slightly smirking, "This your girl?"
Jeremy turned around in surprise to find me awkwardly messing with the hem of my shirt, "No. That's my friend, Y/N."
I looked up, "I want to ask you something about the squip," I tried to sound serious.
"You're looking for a squip?" Rack asked Jeremy and I.
"Yeah," Jeremy said and I shook my head.
Rack looked confused before he led Jeremy and I to the storage room, where laces and shoe polish lived. The storage room was probably really big, almost the size of half the school.
"Once you get the squip, there are no refunds. This shit isn't exactly legal," Rack said while he got a totally not suspicious box from a totally not suspicious shelf.
"Take a look," he opened the box. Inside, cushioned with toilet paper, was about a dozen gray pills that looked identical to the one Jake gave me.
"Let me see the money," Rack held his hand opened to Jeremy as if beckoning for the money. Jeremy started to consider giving him all $600 (from god knows where).
"Just give him $400," I whispered quickly into his ear and he immediately counted out $400 and gave it to Rack. Rack examined the money for a good 5 seconds before picking a pill out from the box and giving it to Jeremy.
"Woah," Jeremy held the pill as if it was the most important thing in the world.
"Woah indeed. Now get out," Rack forced(?) Jeremy and me out of Payless and into the food court.
"Hey! I didn't get to ask my question!" I tried to chase after Rack, but he was already inside of Payless, "Well, shit."
