It was night time. Eddie walked to the lake where he first saw Venom die. It was a breezy night, the moon making the lake shine. He pulled his hood over his head and just stared at the water. The street was illuminated with colors of dark blues from the lake and light yellows from the street lights. His feet where dangling forms the wooden stand, waiting for something to happen as if he was waiting for Venom to come back, but he knew he would never come back. Never again. Eddie went back towards the street until a switch flipped in his mind. He sighed and looked at the sky. He was nothing without Venom. Before everything, we were just a man that looked like he was homeless, living in anger like he didn't deserve what had happened to him with his past relationship with Anne, but Venom filled the void of emptiness in him. The dark pit that kept telling him to quit, and since he's not here, of course, it would be back.
Tears ran down his expressionless face. Twisting the sleeves of his dirty and sweat-drenched hoodie, playing the threads that have ripped from when a fence hot caught on it. Eddie out his hands to his side and took one last look at the disgusting city he lived in and fled towards the lake, heart pumping, full of adrenaline, legs moving fast until his feet hit the edge. He made sure to let the air leave his body as he jumped into the darkness of the water. He looked dead just by letting the water flow through him, being consumed the darkness he once controlled. He opened his eyes, seeing nothing but blurred lined of light that must be been the lights of the street. It also reminded him of when the rocket exploded back when they were fighting Riot and Drake. Seeing fractions of black goo evaporating through the orange and yellow flames. He felt the bubbles from when he jumped reach the surface. He plainly let go and breathed in the cold, chilling water. Everything was silent, so quiet Eddie started to hear his heartbeat and a ringing noise through his ears. That's when he opened his eyes again. It was like he was hallucinating. He truly could see the rocket explode above the lake. He felt as if everything was in slow motion. The booming of the explosions being muffled out by the water. That's when he saw him. Eddie tried to yell for him, water filling his mouth making him choke more as he swallowed up more water. He swam up, trying to catch his breath and to see if he really saw Venom, only to be disappointed and seeing trees. He went back on the deck, soaked from the water like when he met Venom at the tower. He was shivering and started to take off his hoodie, peeling away rue cloth as it stuck to his body, his shirt uncovering his stomach only to be out down as his hoodie had been removed. He just stared at the water, emptiness devouring his mind. Then he started walking back home.

Eddie was lying in his bed. The clock read 3:47 am. It's been a week since he last heard Venom and police reports about a red symbiote roaming the streets. Every day without Venom makes him worse and worse. He was even done things that he was not proud of. He refused to go to therapy as Anne suggested, and stopped eating and barely drank enough water to survive this depression that he's been going through, though it's not like it's the first time, except this time it hit him worse. Anne caught him trying to attempt suicide when she went to check on him. Through her sobbing, she heard him saying how fucking loud the quite has been. Though that was a couple of days ago. There was a huge thud at the door. Probably that asshole neighbor again, bringing in another poor girl to fuck. Eddie covered himself in blankets, trying to muffle out any noise from the outside. All he could hear was his own breathing, and his heart beating lightly until there was another bang at the door, only this time it seems like someone was there for Eddie. He didn't bother to get up and see who it was. What was the point when it's not going to be the person he wants more than ever.
The banging only continued until Eddie sighed in frustration and got up It was a dog, scraping at the door. It was a black lab with a red collar. It pounced on Eddie and pawed at his thigh. Eddie got on one knee to let the dog though his plan backfired when the dog attacked him by licking his face.
"Heeeey buddy, you lost or something?" Eddie looking at the hall trying to see if there was an owner walking around when suddenly something burst through the walls of the hall, making the dog run and hide. Eddie ran towards the window between his and his neighbor's apartment have had been broken when his apartment was ambushed with Drake's assassins. He looked through the window, trying to find an escape route. The apartment was too high up, but not high enough to kill him. That's when a wave of sadness hit him as he realized Venom is really gone and can't save him. He was now cornered against the wall of the hall, finally able to see who caused the disturbances. It was Kasady and his symbiote from hell.
"Well well well, isn't it little Eddie. Where's your protector now hmm. Oh right, he's gone." the symbiote chuckled. "Sorry about that, " he snickered.
Eddie felt a wave of sadness flowing through him. He felt as if he was about to cry.
"That's too bad that the fight had to end so soon, I really expected more from him. Who knew that he was a fucking weakling like you. Bet you wish he was still alive but guess what baby he isn't and no one would really miss your poor little worthless life, it wouldn't hurt to imprison you now would it?"
"Fuck you you fucking parasite!" Eddie snarled.
"Oh Eddie, is that any way to treat a friend. Though you know, I could. Guess your really desperate to find another worthless symbiote to fuck, right Eddie? This could be a great advantage for me and whether you like it or not, you're going to be our little toy. Since that motherfucker might still be roaming around the streets, " he whispered.
"Fantastic," Eddie said sarcastically.
"I never really got to introduce myself now have I?"
"I really don't give a flying fuck about who you are."
"Too bad I'm going to tell you anyway. Though I'm pretty sure Kasady has already told you."
"Carnage?"
"So you aren't as dumb as the others, fantastic! Especially when you're such a cute little sweaty hobo baby, huh?"
Eddie just rolled his eyes. He was aware of what he looked like, physically, but that was only because of his mental state.
"Anyway enough with the chit chat, we have work to do."
"What kind of w- HEY" Eddie was interrupted and was grabbed by Carnage and thrown in the other hand like a useless doll.
