"Applause for the great performer"
Cheers from the crowd as she stepped out on that heavy curtain.
Walking on the stage while wearing her widest smile.
A smile without any sign of despair. This time, no one knows what would be her final act but I know, this will end something they know,- something they think that they've treasured enough.
They've seen a lot from her but all they said was just "That's too lame" "You're overreacting"-- worst? "We will not buy that".
That's why she made sure that no one could predict what her next act will be,
she made sure everyone will be surprise,
that everyone will acknowledge her.She sat on the small chair, and grabbed the small silver knife.
She carved something that made everyone froze.
A pure talent as they said.
A courage to perform that act without any sign of hesitation.
Then her dress turned from white into dark red,
She turned around like a princess changing her dress.A loud applause as she stood up.
The show ended and the curtain's closed.
"Are you done?" I asked her.
She looked at me and smiled.
She reached for my hand and said 'Let's go'
"Do you think they know that you're gone?"
My eyes met hers.
I scanned the room with my eyes, dismayed. She stopped walking and uttered...
"It's okay. They're like that. They'll laugh at you when you open up. They'll say they understand but the truth is, they don't. And when you die, they feel sorry, they will shed a tear as if they tried to be there for you"
I can sense her pain. I can see a dead person, dying again."are you happy?" I asked.
"I don't know, No man would be happy when he decides to leave his loved ones behind, but..."
"But what?"
"It may sound selfish but is it wrong to make yourself free from pain, free from people whom you think are real to you?"
My eyes were fixed to hers, it was full of misery, a different kind of tiredness-- a soul longing for a rest.I couldn't utter a word, I couldn't find a word to comfort her broken heart.
I just grabbed her hand and led her to the gate,
"Time to bid goodbye" I told her.
She smiled and shed a tear, Smiled because she is now free from the chains of the world,
Shed a tear because she don't know what would be her consequences after longing for this kind of freedom. All she know is that... at this very moment-- she achieved something that she think she deserved.
