Now, I am not the person who likes sentence structure, but trust me, we all have to learn it. I will be using mostly words you know, (from my previous lessons), and some words that you wont know.

In English we say our basic sentences like this: subject-verb-object

In Japanese you say your basic sentences like this: subject-object-verb

IN JAPANESE VERB IS ALWAYS AT THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, in English you say, "I watched TV." But, in Japanese it is totally different. You would say, "I TV watched", or,"TV I watched". So, lets learn some basic sentences and their structure.

-Chikatetsu wa doku desu ka.- this sentence means "Where can I find the subway?" but in exact translation it doesn't say it in that order. If you are trying to find the word subway or find in this sentence you would have to break it down. We now know that japanese sentences are constructed differently, in the sense that they go in the order of subject-object-verb, so we have to find the subject in our english sentnence. The subject in our English sentence is what the verb is happening too. In the English sentence, we are finding the subway, so subway is obviously the subject. When looking at the Japanese sentence I see the word Chikatetsu, which has to be Subway. So, now we know that the word Chikatetsu means subway. Do you get it now? If you don't get it, I will have hundreds of more times to explain because this is only sentence structure #1.
