" You have an amazing house" The police officer says

" Thank you" Mani says.  She had invited over the woman to have dinner with her and her son

" Lani can I ask you a question?" The 5 year old cuts in

" Sure go ahead"

" Did you have a dad while growing up?" He looks sad

" Nope, my mother raised my sister and I on her own. She is a strong woman. She did so well raising her children on her own. Your mother is doing a fantastic job with you too little man. She loves you  so much"

"Do you have kids?"

"Antoine" Mani says

" Its okay, and no I dont"

" Can you adopt me and be my other parent?"

" Antoine you're crossing the line now" Mani cuts in again

" Its okay. Uh, you're an amazing kid and your mother loves you a whole lot like I said"

" But I like you too" He pouts

" Okay sweetheart, let's wash you up and get you to bed"

" I want Lani to tuck me in"

Mani is about to say something but Lani says it's okay and she takes him to brush his teeth and tucks him in as Mani looks on. They both kiss him goodnight and he is out cold

" I'm sorry he placed you on the spot like that it's like ever Darrius decided to show up it has been hard on him" Mani says as she passed the last plate to Lani who dries it and puts it back in its place

" Its okay. He is a good kid. I enjoy his company alot. I also enjoyed dinner you surely knows how to put it down in the kitchen and you're a super mom. You're doing an amazing job with Antoine"

" Thank you I never thought I would've been able to raise him considering the struggle I went through" She wipes a tear

" Come here, once again you're a strong and an amazing woman and mother to Antoine" She pulls her into her arms. After they release each other from the hug they stare into each other's eyes and begins to lean in as their lips touch. They start slow and eventually picks up the pace. Lani picks the darker woman up and wraps her legs around her waist

" Lani stop I cant do this"

" I'm not gonna do anything that you dont want me too" She holds her hands and places her forehead against hers

" I'm sorry but I'm just scared. I havent been in a serious relationship since Darrius-I

" Hey it's okay I understand. I just want you to know that I care about and Antoine a whole lot and I will always be here no matter what" She pecks her lips

" You're an excellent kisser"

" Of course the best" She winks

" Can we take things slow?"

" Of course whatever you want" She strokes her face.

" Thank you"

" You don't have to thank me" She kisses her once more and pulls her into her arms

" What the fuck are you doing?" Jared says causing both of them to pull apart

" What are you doing here?" Mani says

" So I'm not allowed to visit my own sister now? I havent checked up on you all week so I decided to come by. How is my nephew?"

" He is doing fine. He has just been having a difficult time since Darrius popped up and claims he wants to be in his life"

" Darrius better not let me find him  and Lani didnt I tell you to stay away from my sister huh. Just a fucking week ago you were talking about some Jasmine girl"

" I know that I am a player but I like your sister alot and I'm willing to change for her"

" Jared can you stop acting as though you're my father, I'm a grown ass woman"

" Mani it is my job to protect you and Antoine. If anyone hurts you guys imma fuck them up. Break her heart and imma kill you" He points his gun to her

" Really Jared. You're just going overboard now" Mani says

" Nigga please I'll never take this beauty for granted. She is a queen and deserves to be treated like one" She kisses her passionately

" I'm watching you, my fucking eyes are on you" He says
