3 months later

It has been 3 months since Mani and Lani have been dating. They are taking things slow

" Who are you?" Mani says as she studies the girl who opened Lani's appartment's door. She was also dressed in one of Lani's tshirt

" Hey who is at the door" Lani appears at the door and is shocked to see Mani and her son standing there. " Mani I wasnt expecting you guys"

" Of course you weren't, we wanted to surprise you but I can see that you're occupied"

" Mani I'm sorry this was a mistake" She gestures between her and the woman who is standing in her apartment

" You know what save the bullshit I dont wanna hear it. I'm done" She holds her son's hand

" I thought you were different and better than my so called father" He runs to the car feeling sad

"Hey little man what happened?"Jared says he had offered to drop them off at Dinah's but stuck around for a bit

"Lani doesnt like mommy anymore" He pouts

"What did she do?"

" She broke her heart"

" Let's go back to her" He exits the car  "What the hell is your problem huh, you told me to back off and what did you do you broke my sister's heart I warned you" He pushes her

" I didnt mean to okay it just happened I cannot go into details with Antoine here"

Jared is fuming right now so he grabs her and places his gun to her  neck

" I told you I'll kill your ass if you hurt my sister"

" Oh my god" Ashley, the girl who Lani slept with speaks up for the first time as she grabs her stuff. " You have some crazy ass people around you. I'm done" She runs out of there

" Jared what are you doing? Antoine is here"

" I'm sorry nephew, close your eyes so uncle Jared can teach Lani a lesson"

" Jared stop this, just let it go do you wanna go to prison for this cause you will get prosecuted you're a black man after all"

" I'll say it was self defense" He tightens the grip on his gun"

" Jared put the gun down" Mani tries to grab a whole of the gun and it goes off hitting her just below her chest area.

"Mani, fuck what have I done" He drops the gun and begins to apply pressure to the wound with his hands. Lani called 911 and they were away in the ambulance in no time

At the hospital

Jared was pacing up and down with blood stains on his clothing

" This is all my fault I shot my sister" He looks at his hands and breaks down

" It was an accident, she is gonna be okay she is strong" Lani tries to comfort her partner

The doctor approaches them. Mani's aunt took Antoine to her place. The little boy was traumatized enough after seeing his mother get shot with his own eyes.

" We managed to remove the bullet however she lost a lot of blood, but we are out of her blood type-

" What is her blood type?" Lani says

" O+"

" I'm O too let's get this blood so we can save her life"

"Right this way"

Jared hugs her  "Thank you so much and I'm so sorry for the way I treated you"

"Its okay I have alot of making up to do just hang in there for you and your parents"She pats him on his back then leaves

" My baby is going to be fine she has to be fine" Andrea says

" I'm sorry mom" He pulls her into his arms

" If my daughter dies you'll see the worst of me" Derrick says

" Derrick what are you saying"

"Andrea because of him I've had to watch my daughter being wheeled in here with blood escaping her body. You heard the doctor she lost alot of blood-

"Kehlani has offered to donate the blood"

" We have no idea Andrea, we have absolutely no idea as to whether our daughter will live or not. I cant do this and I cant stand to be in the same room as him. I need some fresh air"  He walks away

" He is right mom this is all my fault, it's on me" He cries

" No son it was an accident and soon your father will see that too he is just hurting to see her like that" She pulls him into her arms.

" I love you mom"

" I love you too son"
