Joel was excited now that school had finished. He made his way to the bus stop to say goodbye too Hayley but the bus had already left and she wasn't there. He was a little bit too late but they would text later so he began his walk home. It would be at least twenty minutes but he liked it a lot. He waved at his friend who rode past him on his new bike. Joel thought about getting a bike but didn't think he would use it that much outside of school.

Joel got home at about 3:30pm. His parents were still at work so he'd be by himself for at least another hour. He didn't have any siblings which he was glad for. He quite enjoyed the silence and never had to argue about stuff with anyone. Sometimes he would get envious when he saw other families out together but he got over it quickly. If he did have siblings then he wouldn't have his own gym to use whenever he wanted. his mum wanted to use it as a spare room but his dad agreed with his idea for a gym. It was something they could all use but mostly for Joel. He spent a lot of time in there. Joel went to the kitchen to grab an energy bar before heading to his room to unpack. He took of his shoes and placed his bag next to his desk and turned on his computer. He spent the next few minutes scrolling through social media while he ate his energy bar. He was going to close the browser when he noticed Carters profile. Curiosity got the better of him as he clicked on it. He saw photos of his old school and his family. In one photo he was standing with who Joel guessed was his three siblings, mum and dad with Carter in the middle. He wasn't smiling like everyone else. He looked quite dull and sad. It wasn't just one photo either, a whole bunch of them were the same. Joel got lost in the profile as he kept looking. He went back about five years to the year 2014 and found a photo of him smiling with a guys arm wrapped around him. Joel wondered what happened to that glorious smile. Joel finally closed the browser and went back to unpacking his school bag, changed out of his uniform and put on his grey gym clothes. Joel put his rubbish in the bin on the way and put in his earphones while turning up the volume on his favorite playlist.
