Carter walked home with his siblings. His younger sister, Sophie, who was seven, skipped ahead of them while his older brother and sister who are eighteen and nineteen walked behind him. They were there until we got to the bus stop then they would go off with their friends. Carter had to take care of his younger sister and had little time to himself outside of school. He understands that he is almost seventeen and needs to be responsible but he feels like he never has any freedom like his siblings do. When they got to the bus stop his older siblings said goodbye to Sophie and waved at Carter as he signed to them goodbye. They refused to learn sign language but would complain when they don't understand what he tried to tell them. They bullied him often about it. Often saying that I should just get over it and it wouldn't hurt me to try and talk normal. Sophie and Carter got on the bus when it arrived and waited. The ride home wasn't long but Dad always said to get Sophie home asap because she was little.

They got off the bus and said thanks to the driver and the bus drove away. They walked for about two minutes before they got home. Carter unlocked the front door for Sophie and she went inside. Immediately his dog came running to greet him. That was one of the few things that made him happy. He did not enjoy most things, too Carter everything was dull and boring. When Carter finished getting his bag ready for the next day he went to the kitchen to make the school lunches for himself and Sophie. He would always make her the same sandwich no matter what because she got everything. If she didn't get what she wanted then Carter would get the blame and be yelled at.

His Mum got home while he was making lunch and the first thing she said was that the house was a mess and for him to clean it up while she went and talked about her day to Sophie. She never asked about his. Carter finished up the sandwiches and put them in the fridge. He grabbed a snack and headed towards the laundry room to grab the vacuum. He got most of the rooms done before his dad got home and made a new mess where he had just cleaned. he knew better than to say anything so he moved on. After about an hour, the house was good enough for his parents and he headed for his room. He had to start his delivery job today. He had been folding since yesterday so he had a few bags ready. It was an ok job but he was forced to go out until late to get it done, even on a school night. Carter got his things together and headed to the door. He signed to his mum that he was heading out. She didn't pay him attention as she was having a smoke and browsing on her phone. He shrugged and left the house. At least he didn't have to walk far before he had to start. Only about five minutes walk.

-1hr and 30 mins later-

Carter was done for the day. He had run out of papers so he headed home. It was 6pm and when he got home his family was having dinner. They always started without him. His food would be wrapped up for later. He did not eat with them often. Carter went to his room and started to fold again for tomorrows delivery. At 7:30pm he got his dinner and started eating. He never liked the way the fish was cooked but he dealt with it. He cleaned up the dished and headed for a shower before going to bed. He stayed up for about an hour before he felt even remotely tired. Carter missed his old home, his friends, his school and his family. Carter went through old photos and cried himself to sleep.
