Team Starter: The Resistance Part 3
A month after our first mission, everything went well. Anubis would occasionally go with us, as he was still tending to Spire Canyon.
We had also learnt some new moves too. I had learnt Bounce to replace Acrobatics. Ember had learnt Fire Fang and Dragon Rage, while Palm had learnt Giga Drain and Agility.
Finn had perfected his strong moves.
But on a rainy day, as we were about to leave our cabin, loudspeakers in our cabin echoed,'All Resistance members, the Danger level has been raised to Highly Dangerous. All members under Diamond Rank will not leave Headquarters, with those with Diamond to travel with their whole team. Dragonite and Wailord fast travel will be stopped. This is because a general of the Master's, a Scizor has been seen by overhead bird pokemon. Merchants or other civilians are advised not to leave this place. Thank You.'
'Oh No! So we can't do missions?'
'Of course not. Even I can't leave Headquarters. You can go to the Dojo and train for these days.'
Half an hour later, we arrived at the fourth floor. Ember poked his head into the curtain.
'Hi, Todd!'
'Hey there Ember! Training?'
'Yes, thank you! Can we have a private room?'
'Oh, ok! Room 11 is free now. The Dojo is really full, with everyone confined inside.'
'Thanks!'
We went inside our private room.
'What do we do?'
'Maybe spar.'
'Ok then. Let's do a elimation battle. I fight Palm and Finn fights Ember.'
We got into our respective battle stances. Then, with a shout, we leaped at each other.
I ducked under Palm's Giga Drain and shot a Water Pulse back at him. He dodged it and ran at me with pursuit. I went into shadow and Palm stumbled. Suddenly, I popped up from his shadow and hit him with Smack Down. He tried to hit back with Pound,  but I used Bounce to spring up and hit him. After a few minutes of sparring, he raised his hands in defeat.
On the other side, Finn was using Muddy Water to hit Ember. After a few waves, one finally hit him. He stumbled back. Finn took this chance to Hammer Arm Ember. As he had the type advantage, Ember had almost no chance to fight back.
Suddenly, Ember began to glow. In the white light, we saw his body changing. Horn-like shapes began to sprout from his head and sharper, longer claws grew. Finally, the light faded to reveal Ember the Charmelon.
Ember looked at his new body. 'Wow! I feel stronger.'
'See if you learned any new moves.' Palm suggested.
Ember raised his claws and sliced the air. They took on a purple-like hue while moving. 'Should be Dragon Claw.' 
He tried it again.'Now I can't use Metal Claw.'
'You must have forgot it to learn Dragon Claw.'
'Well I evolved, that's a good sign.' Ember grinned.
We continued to train for the day. Palm then decided to bring the box of training items down and told us to wear them. I chose a Power Anklet, to increase my speed even more. Palm took a Power Bracer and Ember took Power Lens. Then we fought each other again.
------------------Time Skip-------------------
It was five days before we finally could do missions again. Finn also evolved in these days, which was expected as he was better trained than us.
This time, it was Anubis who chose a mission for us. We had to go to a nearby town to get a list of evolutionary stones which were stolen by a pack of Patrats and Watchogs from a shop and put inside.
As the town was across the whole Mountain region, we hired a Dragonite fast travel to get there. And no, Anubis was not coming with us.
We arrived at the town and went to the shop. Inside a Sableye greeted us. We told him that we came for the mission. Instantly he disappeared into a back room and came out with a list.
'The dungeon is over that mountain range,' he told us.
In no time, we got to the mouth of the cave. Anubis had warned us that the enemies there were stronger than any we had encountered before.
'What was the list again?' Finn asked.
'It's 3 fire, thunder and shiny stones, 5 water stones, 6 moon stones, 2 dawn and sun stones and 1 oval, dusk and ice stone each.'
Before we had gone, Anubis gave us four walkie-talkie things to each of us as we would probably be seperated and groping in the dark. We now switched them on.
After a brief check, we headed in.
The inside was like a maze and we got instantly seperated. For fifteen minutes there was nothing other than us checking each other's statuses. But then there was sounds of yelling and fighting on Palm's channel. I told the others to stop and wait until Palm came back. After a brief few minutes, Palm came back on.
'Got attacked by a Watchog and 3 Patrats. They had a fire stone and 2 water stones on them.
'Good job. Keep them safe.'
Another 15 minutes later
'Wait. I see another tunnel linking to mine.' I said.
'I see one too.' Finn said.
'Wait, I see a Marshtomp in the distance. Is that you?'
'Let me see. Oh yes, that's me.'
'Come up and switch off your device.' I told him.
'Wow, you guys found each other? Ember asked.
'Yes, and we found a ledge.' I and Fin were standing on the side of a ledge. Down were some Patrats, and some were holding the stones. One was holding a Shiny stone and four others were holding water stones.
'Guys, we located the rest of the water stones and the shiny stone. There's like ten Patrats down there. Do we take them on?
'Oh wait. I see a opening. It leads also to a cavern like yours.'
'Me too.'
Suddenly, Palm and Ember appeared on ledges we hadn't seen because of the darkness, one on each side of us.
'I see you guys. Let's fight the Patrats.'
'Finn, you block the exit.' I gestured to a bigger tunnel opposite of us, on the enemies' level.
We nodded, and jumped down.
I shot a Water Pulse in midair and used Bounce to hit another. Palm Fury Swiped and Pounded his target. Ember fired Dragon Rages at everybody, and Finn was flooding the cavern. In little time, the Patrats were all defeated.
We took the stones and counted them.
'All water and shiny stones located and one fire stone found.' Finn reported.
I looked at the sheer darkness of the large tunnel. Seems like we had to go that way.
'Come on, guys. Let's go.'
This time, we didn't have to seperate. Instead, we bunched up and walked slowly and cautiously. Suddenly, in what felt like 30 minutes of holding our breath, we heard some faint noises in front of us.
A giant cavern appeared before us. Behind it we could see the exit of the cave. The town was barely visible in the mist of the mountains.
And in the middle of the cave, stones glistened.
I signalled for Palm to look. Cautiously I took him into a shadow and moved towards the stones.
But suddenly, we froze. In the dim light of the cavern, a Watchog stood in front of a bunch of different pokemon, including Exeggcute, Nidorino and Nidorina.
'So everyone get in line to take your respective stone and evolve. Don't take them away, because I have gotten reports that a Resistance team has been following us,' we heard the Watchog say. I nodded at Palm and we crept slowly to the stones and picked them up one by one.
But as Palm was picking up the last one, there came a cheer from the bunch of pokemon. I lost my focus and materialized. Palm dropped the stone.
The Watchog leader had turned around to see us. He grinned evilly and said to the crowd,' Everyone, this is the team that has been searching for us. If you want to evolve, fight them with me.' The crowd roared and charged.
I quickly closed the bag of stones and tossed it to Ember. The Watchog threw himself at me, only to be nailed in the head with a Dragon Rage from Ember. To my left, Finn had ran out and joined Palm in keeping away the pack. Palm fired Bullet Seeds rapidly while Finn was keeping back. Or was he? Suddenly, Palm jumped up as a giant wave of Muddy Water swamped the enemies. With shouts of fear, surprise and anger they were washed out of the cave exit. As the wave dispersed, they ran away in different directions.
I was still battling the leader. The Watchog tried to hit me with a Headbutt, but missed. I struck back with a Water Pulse, hitting it in the back. The Watchog fired a Swift and hit me, also Headbutting me when I was recovering. I struggled up and disappeared with Shadow Sneak. Suddenly, I appeared behind him. The Watchog grinned and said,' I got you this time.' and charged at me, only into a pile of mist. He stumbled and fell.
I appeared at his back once more, this time for real and hit him with Acrobatics and Smack Down. The Watchog couldn't take it and fainted.
I took the chance to put it inside a Temporary Capsule.
Finn and Palm approached me.
'Good Subsitute there.' I grinned.
Some Patrats peeked their heads out of holes we hadn't paid attention to. Seeing their leader defeated, they screamed in terror and scampered, leaving even more stones behind them. We counted them again. Only two Moon stones were left.
'Where are the remaining two stones?' I wondered as I peeked my head out of the cave. Suddenly I saw them. They were at the foot of a mountain. Just as I was going to retrieve them, two pokemon, a Nidorino and Nidorina appeared. They made contact with the stones and evolved. They looked back and saw me. They smirked and disappeared into the mist.
Suddenly, Ember's voice rang at my side,' Its no use. We can't find the last two. Apparently he hadn't seen the pair of pokemon. I sighed and followed them out. We went back to the shop and gave the Sableye the found stones. He didn't mind the two stones, as he had the most of them. We received our reward and travelled back to Headquarters with the Dragonite that were waiting for us.
While we were flying, shivers ran down my spine. The pair of pokemon... I had a bad feeling about them. I felt that we would meet them again, and it wouldn't be a pleasant one.
Meanwhile...
'Master, the new recruits have been tested and put into respective parts of the army. Also, I have two pokemon that are special. Come out, Spike and Venom.' a Pokemon's voice rang out.
A certain Nidoking and Nidoqueen stepped out of the darkness of the room and bowed before a throne.
'These pokemon are stronger than the other recruits. They have also proven their loyalty by doing the swear. By this, my lord, I would like to request that they can be officers.'
'Very well. Promote them to be vice-generals of the Poison-type force. Also, keep threatening the Resistance. Tell the other generals about this. When the time is right, we will attack our enemies at full force and crush them like a bug!'a harsh voice rang out of the throne.
'Oh and my lord, Kinesis has spoken. Another human has come to this world.'
The voice on the throne replied, this time with a bit of fear,' Deploy forces to find this pokemon-human, whatever the cost. To which force he proves loyal to, that force will win.'
