I wake up in the morning and rush to get ready. Alex gives me a ride to school since both of our dad's had already left. I had been quite all day. Alex had tried to talk to me once but I didn't say a thing. He respected that and didn't try to get me to talk to him again. We meet with Alex's friends again during lunch. Everyone was still staring and making fun of me but I ignored it.
"Olivia? Alex?" says a man from behind.
Alex and I turn to see Officer Roberts standing behind us.
"We have to get going. Your dad's are waiting for you two at the police station."
"Is everything okay?" Alex asks right away.
"Yeah, everything is fine."
Alex and I both stand up.
"You guys may want to grab your stuff from your lockers."
"But I drove my truck here." says Alex
"I can drive you guys back afterwards."
We pick up our stuff and head to the lockers. The bell had rung and everyone was in the hall and at their lockers. Alex was already at his locker pulling out the last few things while Officer Roberts stade with me. I could hear people whispering about me as they walk by. Alex comes over as I finished putting the last bit in my backpack. We go straight out to the police car and go to the police station. We head into a conference room where my dad and William we're waiting for us. Alex and I sit down across from them as the door closes.
"This could of waited till you guys got home but we thought it would be better to do this now." Says William.
"As you know that they finally know for sure and have evidence that I didn't kill Cassandra. That doesn't mean we're exactly safe." Says my dad stopping to let William take over.
"Since there are people still after you, Olivia, and your dad were going to be having to be on high alert. Since these people who are after you know who you are, Alex, you could be in danger two."
Both of them stay silent for a bit while Alex and I both quickly glance at each other.
My dad finally says, "There will be a policemen following you two around at school starting tomorrow. The officer will follow you guys all the way home where another officer will be also staying with us. It may be a bit crazy but you two will get used to it."
"Is that all?" asks Alex.
"Yes." say William.
"We need to go back to the school to get my truck...if you don't mind."
"I can drop you two off." Says William right away. "I have to go back to work anyway."
"Then I'll mean you two back at the house. You'll be meeting the officer that will be staying with us tonight." says my dad standing up.
"Okay, see ya there." Replies Alex.
We head out to the cars. Alex and I go with William to his car. We meet up at a restaurant to get something to eat. William drives us to the school. He leaves as Alex and I get into his truck.
"Do you mind if I take you on a drive?"
"Sure but we're supposed to meet my dad at the house. It's getting late...in case you haven't noticed."
"Yeah, don't worry. Well get home before it gets too late."
"Okay."
He starts up the truck and starts driving down the road. He stops in an empty parking area on the side of the road. It dipped out into a beautiful empty field. Alex shut off the truck and moves to the middle of the seats as I do the same. We look out to the field taking in the view. I lean into him as he puts his arm around me. He holds out his phone in front of us and takes a picture.
"Thanks." I whisper.
"Your welcome, and thank you for letting me bring you out here."
I must of dozed off because I jump when my phone starts buzzing and ringing. Alex had just sat up and looked like he just woke up. I quickly pick up my phone and see my dad was calling. I quickly answer it putting it on speaker phone.
"Where are you two! You should be home by now!" Says my dad over the phone.
"I'm sorry...we must of fallen asleep."
"We tried calling Alexander's phone but he didn't pick up and finally you did!"
"What time is it?"
"It's nine almost ten! Where are you guys!"
Alex quickly starts talking before I can, "I brought Olivia to one of my favorite views and we must've fallen asleep. Sorry...we should be back soon."
"You two better. William and I will be waiting."
"Okay...bye." I reply.
My dad doesn't say anything since he hung up. Alex starts the car and pulls out his phone. He had two missed calls and a text from both my dad and his. I look at my phone seeing two texts from William and my dad. I put down my phone looking out at the view.
"One of these are gonna be my screensavers." says Alex still looking at his phone.
"What are you talking about?"
"You can look but you better not delete any of them."
He hands me his phone and then starts driving us home. There was a picture of me and him, me asleep while leaning on him, and the last one was me looking out the window. There was also one of the sun setting and the field.
"Do you mind if I text these to myself?" I ask.
"Sure go ahead."
"I like them by the way."
"Thanks."
He glances at me smiling and them focuses back on the road. We finally get home and climb out of the truck. We go through the front door and I hold the strap of my backpack tightly. We slowly walk into the living room where a policeman, William and my dad are waiting. The officer stands up and shakes our hands.
"I'm Detective Jack Reynolds but you guys can just call me Jack."
"I'm Alexander."
"And I'm Olivia."
"Nice to meet you two. I'll be coming with you to school and back. I'll also be staying here for a while. Someone else will be coming to stay all day and it will most likely be another guy since we'll be sharing rooms."
"You two should go to bed. It's late," says William.
Alex and I both head upstairs together and separate into our own rooms. I wasn't sure how Jack would be able to be with both Alex and I at the same time since we had a few classes apart. I knew that they would find a way though. I lay in my bed wondering of what tomorrow would be like. Having a police officer have to follow you around isn't exactly normal.
