The next day I get up quickly and get ready for the day. I stay in my room after lunch waiting till Alex gets here. I felt like I was going to drive myself insane waiting for him. I look out my window to see Alex pulling up in his truck. I grab my mom's car keys and my purse. I run down the stairs as quick as I can. I open up the garage to see Alex standing right outside the garage smiling. I climb into the driver's seat while Alex climbs into the passenger's seat. We get to the mall and go straight into one of the stores.

"I don't know..." I say.

I had put on a white dress with black lace that started on the side and went out. The dress when below my knees maybe an inch above my ankle.

"I like it."" says Alex smiling.

"You sure?"

"Yes, it looks great."

I go back and change into my normal clothes. I pay for the dress and we leave the store back into the mall.

"Were going to need masks and I'm guessing you already have a tux for the ball."

"Well, actually we have already bought it but I need to go pick it up. Its just in one of the stores here."

"Okay then let's go get it."

We stop by one of the stores where Alex picks up his tux.

"We aren't going to find any masks here. I know where we can go look though." says Alex as we step onto the elevator.

"Where will we be going then?"

"We can go look at party city since they should definitely have masks there. If not we can go elsewhere."

"Sounds good to me."

We go out to the car and put our things on the back seats. I then drive us to party city. Alex quickly finds his mask which is plain, shiny and black.

"How about this one?" says Alex holding up a black mask that looks like it has lace for me.

"I love it."

He smiles and we head to the counter to pay. I go to take out my wallet but Alex stops me.

"I'll pay for it."

"But I have the money."

"And I said I'm paying for it."

I don't argue and I let him pay for it. We go out to the car and then head back to my house. Alex puts his stuff in his truck and then comes back over to me.

"Well I have to go home so I'll see you tomorrow."

"Will you be picking me up?"

"Yeah."

"What time?"

"Around six....I'll text you when I'm coming."

"Okay, see you then."

Alex kisses me on the cheek, "see ya"

I watch as he gets into his truck and pulls away. I take my dress out of the car and grab my mask. I close the garage and step inside.

"Could I see it?!" says my grandma in the living room coming to see me along with my dad.

"You can see it tomorrow."

"Okay but it better be beautiful." says my grandmother.

"It is, Alex helped me pick it out. Now I'm going to go upstairs and I'll be back down for dinner."

"Okay." says my grandmother happily.

I go up to my room and put my dress in my closet leaving it in the cover. Later on I go downstairs and have dinner. I was just so excited I couldn't wait for tomorrow. I toss and turn all night long trying to at least get some sleep. I eventually fall asleep after hours of tossing and turning.

When I wake up it's lunchtime. I shower and change into sweatpants and a t-shirt pulling a hoodie over it. I get some lunch and go back up to my room. I go into my painting studio and draw and outline of me and Alex. I knew he would like it. I paint it in with all dark colors. It wasn't all black up it looked like the sun was coming from in front of us. Alex had his arm around my shoulder and I had my arm around his back. I was leaning my head on him while he tilted a bit to me. Once I finish I take a picture and send it to Alex. I go into my room and sit down on my bed as I wait for Alex to respond.

Alex: I love it. Have u been working on it all day?

Me: Yep I have nothing else to do

Alex: Same here

Me: Well we only have a few more hours

Alex: True

Me: It's just going by so slowly

Alex: I know

A few hours later I start getting ready. I put on my dress and curl my hair. I knew I would have nowhere to put my phone but I had to keep it with me until Alex and I left. I go downstairs where I quickly eat dinner while being careful to get nothing on my dress. My grandmother comments on how beautiful I look several times. I hear my dad come up behind me.

"Close your eyes. I have something for you."

I do as he says. I feel some light lay around my neck.

"Okay you can look now."

I open my eyes and look to see a heart necklace with a little diamond in the middle.

"Thank you."

"Your welcome."

The necklace looked very expensive but it was absolutely beautiful. My phone buzzes and I look down to see a text from Alex that he is on his way. I set my phone down on the counter and grab my mask. A few minutes later the doorbell rings. I run to get the door with my mask in my hand. I open it to see Alex in his tux and a bow tie with his mask in his hand as he looks up from the ground.

"You look beautiful" he says looking me in the eyes.

"Thanks...you look good two."

He smiles as I hear my dad come up behind us.

"I'm sorry but I have to get a picture of the two of you together."

My dad loved taking pictures. He used to do it all the time. My dad has us come outside holding his camera. We first have a picture taken without the masks. Then Alex puts his on and helps me tie mine on for me. We take another one and then take back off out masks to leave. There was no doubt that dad kept on taking pictures while Alex was helping with my mask. My dad just does that type of thing.
