"And here comes Y/N in first place, Finn shortly behind at second, and Thomas in third. The rest made an equal tie, or rather I didn't pay attention," Asher announced. We all laugh while the other boys were complaining on who won.

I see Asher with his arm around Annie's shoulder.

"Oh my god hiiiii!! I'm Y/N."

"I already know who you are. Ash wouldn't shut up about the new girl whose gonna date Griff."

My checks start to blush as Annie mentioned him.

"I mean I don't know. I just moved here."

"I can see the way you look at him, Y/N." Asher states.

"Yeah but—"

"No 'buts'!" Annie cuts in. "You guys are cute together."

"Honey, look at you two. PARENTS!!"

We all laugh and continue talking.

"You guys want to go back to the island?" Thomas asks. Well the island is really the buoy thing.

"Sure," I reply. "You should try to get at least second though."

"Bet." He rolls his eyes and gets a head start.

"HEY NO FAIR, YOU CHEATED!!" I yell as I chase after him. I can see everyone else running after us.

We all swim towards the buoy once more. I manage to catch up to Thomas and I see Diego right next to me. I push forward and come tied up with Thomas.

We reach the buoy and Thomas is there first but he struggles to climb aboard. I catch up to him as I hoist myself up there. I stand up and raise my hands in the air.

"AND YOUR TWO TIME WINNER IS Y/N!!"

"You cheated," Thomas states as he stands next to me.

"All is fair." I tap his noise, "Boop."

Everyone climbs on and we just have a chill day doing flips and climbing aboard again.

"It's beautiful, isn't it."

I know that voice.

"Yeah, it is."

He sits next to me and faces the same way to catch the breathtaking view. It's sunset now. Pink, orange, red, yellow, all mixed in the sky.

"This is what I live for," I say.

We sit in silence and just stare. I see him in the corner of my eye him staring at me. I turn to face him and give a small smile as he looks away and ahead of us.

"How you liking Cali so far?"

"I really like it here. Still can't believe my parents are gone though."

"Wait, is that why you moved here? What happened, if you don't mind me asking."

I sighed replaying the event in my head. I looked at the ground, then to him, then ahead of me. I can feel the intense stare of his piercing gaze at the side of my head.

"I was in a car crash with my parents. Drunk driver, classic way to do down. My brother didn't want to live where his passed parents stayed so we moved here, which also helps my career for YouTube, I guess. So I moved here with my brother and his girlfriend."

"Oh," he turns his gaze from me to the water below us, "I'm sorry."

"Thanks. I guess things happen for a reason though. After all I did get to meet you."

"And everyone else."

"Yeah them too."

I look towards him and he looks at me. Our eyes stare into each other's. It may be night but I can still see a glint in his eyes. What is it.

We just stare, and stare. Slowly leaning. He looks down at my lips and quickly flicks his gaze back in my eyes.

"Guys, Diego's mom wants us back!"

I jolt away and look at where the voice was.
