After a car crash in your home town, you, your older brother and his girlfriend move to California. Attempting to balance school and your YouTube channel, will Griffin Gluck manage to get in the way?
slow updates
I hear the curtains rip open as my brother yells these words. You know when you close your eyes and the sun hits it and it's like really bright and orange. Well that's what's happening. It's not fun.
"Nope, goodbye." I throw a pillow at his head and bury my head deeper into the pillow.
"Ahhhhh stoppppp," I whined as he violently shook me. Older brothers am I right.
"C'mon you know what you have to do."
"Yeah, yeah. I'm going, I'm going."
He leaves the room and I get up from bed as I plant my feet on the rug. The contrast of warmth from my feet to the rest of my cold self is not appealing.
Does anyone just get really hot at night but then in the morning your like really cold? Because I feel like that's a real problem. No? Just me? Okay. That's fine too.
I put socks on because like, who wears slippers? Yeah I'm one of those people. I just feel like it's useless, you know? Mad extra.
Anyways, today is the first day of school, a new school might I add. You see here, my parents were in a car crash months ago and they both died. My older brother, Trevor, got custody of me and so we moved to California from New York to get away from the memories. Plus good job opportunities.
I live in a house with him and his girlfriend, Becka. She's like an older sister, we get along great. She's always been there for me, I'm just glad she stuck around. I don't know what i would do without her, or Trevor for that matter.
Oh and when I said job opportunities, that's include me. Well your probably confused. You see, I'm a YouTuber. I kind of have over 3 million subs. I know. Crazy to think a solo 14-year-old has 3 mil subs. Well, it's the truth. And moving to California helps me meet other like me and collab. I've always wanted to be here.
We decided not to do online school because it would be best if I made new friends here. Of course I still talk to most my friends back at New York it's just that, they're a little far.
Well enough of the back story, I have to get ready.
I go to the bathroom and do what I have to do. Brush my teeth, comb the hair, the usual. Once done I swing over to my closet and pick out a fit.

Yes I know, I'm basic with all the Nike, but my bag is Adidas so cant blame me fully.
String bags are WAY BETTER than regular backpacks since I don't have that many things to carry. And you will NEVER see me with a purse. Not. My. Thing.
The bracelets you see are ones I bought my self a while ago. Well actually, for me and my boyfriend, or ex as of now. I broke up with him. It was mutual. I was debating on giving it to him but then we broke up so decided against it. I plan to give it to my next boyfriend, when I find him that is. Guess I have to go boyfriend hunting.
Once I'm done getting dressed I pop in my AirPods to block out the voice of annoying people, also know as my brother.
I head downstairs with my bag packed with all the essentials, folder, pencils, gum, phone, phone charger, three battery packs. Yeah you heard me, THREE. I'm just prepared okay? No need to judge, sheesh.
I sit at the kitchen counter while my Cookies and Cream PopTart is toasting in the toaster. People who eat it cold are weird, don't quote me on that.
Trevor and Becka already left since they're "adulting" and have jobs, weirdos.
The PopTarts finishes and I take it out. Leaving it in my mouth I put my shoes on and grab my skateboard next to the front door. I go out side and soak in the Cali weather. It's September so it's not too hot.
I lock both doors behind me and set off to school, about a 7 minute skateboard ride. I assume it's alright to kept it in my locker but I guess we will see.
I already got a tour of Hills Village High School from a staff member about a week ago and it wasn't that hard to remember my schedule. She let me go over it a couple of times to get adjusted.
Here's my schedule.
period 1- earth science period 2- gym period 3- music ~band and chorus switches off every day~ period 4- global history 2 period 5- free period period 6- lunch period 7- geometry period 8- career and money management period 9- english 2
It had my locker location and combo at the top but I have to keep that a secret. The periods are also 40 minutes each with 4 minute breaks in between to get to your next class. Seems reasonable due to the school size. I'm also excited because at our grade and up we can go off campus for lunch or free period, and since I live close I will most likely be doing that a lot. There's also a place about a three minute walk from the school where there's food places to eat. I think they call it "The Village".
I show my I.D. to the security guard as I walked in to school on foot. I head straight to my lock to put my skateboard in.
The school rule is girls can carry "pocketbooks" or as everyone wears, purses. I think I will stick with the sling bag.
Surprisingly my board fits and I close it shut. I start walking to my class when an old lady, I presume a teacher, stops me in my tracks.
"Are you new here, I remember all the students here if I have them as a student or not and I don't seem to remember you?"
"Yeah, I just transferred here."
"Well we have a no headphone policy so would you please take those out." Her sarcastic tone wasn't working for me but I had to keep mine to my self or detention would probably come my way.
"Yeah sure." I walk off taking my AirPods out.
"Have a nice day," she says as I turn and start walking, ignoring her.
Once I believe I'm out of sight I instantly put my headphones back in. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING can separate me from my music.
I get to my class and walk through the door, to be greeted by the teacher.
