"I feel attacked," Griffin admitted.

"Me too," I replied.

The bell rang and we packed up.

"If you didn't finish your labs take it home to finish up," Mrs. Walker said.

We finished before the group chat was mad so no homework so far.

"Next stop, gym," Thomas said puffing his chest with his head held high as he walked out the classroom.

We all laughed and followed.

During gym we just got our locker room locker combinations since it was the first day of school. We got to sit on the bleachers and just talk for the whole period. Yet again I stayed with the boys since I only knew them. They're starting to grow on me though.

Next was chorus, my favorite class. I do covers sometimes and they get lots of views and likes. Everyone says my voice is the best they ever heard. Probably just saying that to make me feel better, but I think I'm pretty good at it.

When we exit the gym, Griffin and I walk to the chorus room since Diego and Thomas have band.

I sat on the soprano section while Griffin was a tenor.

The bell rang to signal class has started.

Mr. Robinson, the chorus teacher, played some chords on the piano to get everyone's attention.

"As some of you may know we have a need student, y/n. Who would like to tell her what everyone does the first day of chorus?"

A preppy looking girl with blonde hair in the alto section raises her hand.

"Yes, Mya."

"You must sing a song in front of everyone, cover or original doesn't matter. And if you can play your own instrument that's better."

"So y/n come up here and play something."

Like I said before I was confident in my voice. Singing in front of people was fine with me.

"Do you have a guitar?" I ask.

Mr. Robinson nods and goes into the supply closet. He comes out with the guitar and hands it to me. He pulls out the chair from the piano and sets it more in the center of the room, while pushing the piano away so I can see everyone and vise versa.

"I'm gonna play one of my favorite songs, Be Alright by Dean Lewis."

I look up from the ground
To see your sad and teary eyes
You look away from me
And I see there's something you're trying to hide
And I reach for your hand but it's cold
You pull away again
And I wonder what's on your mind
And then you say to me you made a dumb mistake
You start to tremble and your voice begins to break
You say the cigarettes on the counter weren't your friend's
They were my mate's
And I feel the colour draining from my face

And my friend said
"I know you love her, but it's over, mate
It doesn't matter, put the phone away
It's never easy to walk away, let her go
It'll be alright"

So I still look back at all the messages you'd sent
And I know it wasn't right, but it was fucking with my head
And everything deleted like the past, yeah, it was gone
And when I touched your face, I could tell you're moving on
But it's not the fact that you kissed him yesterday
It's the feeling of betrayal, that I just can't seem to shake
And everything I know tells me that I should walk away
But I just wanna stay

And my friend said
"I know you love her, but it's over, mate
It doesn't matter, put the phone away
It's never easy to walk away, let her go
It'll be okay
It's gonna hurt for a bit of time
So bottoms up, let's forget tonight
You'll find another and you'll be just fine
Let her go"

But nothing heals the past like time
And they can't steal
The love you're born to find
But nothing heals the past like time
And they can't steal
The love you're born to find

"I know you love her, but it's over, mate
It doesn't matter, put the phone away
It's never easy to walk away, let her go
It'll be okay
It's gonna hurt for a bit of time
So bottoms up, let's forget tonight
You'll find another and you'll be just fine
Let her go"

It'll be alright
It'll be alright
It'll be alright
It'll be alright
It'll be alright

I ended the song with the last strum and everyone started clapping and whistling. They all stood up still clapping. I just smiled like an idiot because Griffin was the first to start clapping. What am I feeling?
