Take a Swing

Part 4

Game time rolls around and I end up on a stool by the dugout taking videos for Instagram and Snapchat. I take a video of Lorenzo's at bat and cut out everything until he hits the ball for a double.

Christian steps up to the plate and takes ball one.

The pitch comes in and Christian takes a big swing at it. The ball was a foul ball line drive coming straight at me. I couldn't move but luckily I wasn't holding my camera, I reach my hand up to try and snag the ball. And what would you know my softball skills came in handy for this particular moment and potentially saved my face. My hand was ringing after it though. I laughed as the crowd was clapping and cheering.

I look over at Yelich who is still up to bat, but just standing there with a face of amazement. I smile at him before he gives me a surprised look and a 'that was impressive' little clap. He then winks at me and I cannot stop giggling. I focused on taking photos the rest of the game, not really paying attention to my surroundings.

The game ended in the top of the 9th since we were home team and up 5-2 against the Cardinals.

I was heading out when I get a phone call from Mr. Attanasio's assistant Jessica. I stop and answer.

"Hello?" I stated.

"Amelia! Glad I could catch you, are you prepared to travel to San Diego tonight?" She asked.

"Yes, I just need to run home to get my things." I told her.

"Perfect, we'll send a car to your house then. Your driver will have all of the details for your flight." She told me

"Awesome, thank you so much Jesssica!"

"Of course Amelia, oh and nice catch tonight! Me and Mr. Attanasio both saw the game tonight and you really gave the crowd a show." She said with a laugh.

"Oh, thank you. It's really nothing" I tell her as I give a little nervous laugh.

"Amelia, keep up the great work with the media pages. They are looking very promising for the fist time in a while. And Amelia..." She stops.

"Yes?" I question.

"It was definitely something, have a good flight!" She states as she hangs the phone up.

What in the world was this lady talking about?
