Christian and I's conversation had been flowing the whole ride to dinner, just about silly things but it seemed effortless. We arrived to a fancy restaurant, that didn't seem that busy because it was almost midnight.

"After you." Christian stated opening the door for me.

"Wow, Christian you really didn't have to." I said looking at him with a soft smile.

"I know. But I wanted to." He said.

"Okay all I know is that i am hungry." I told him

"Perfect because there is nobody here, they can get the order in fast!" He states wiggling his eyebrows at me.

The waiter greets us nicely by saying

"Mr. Yelich, good to see you again."

Christian replies to him "Always a pleasure Nathan."
he says as Nathan walks us to a table.

Nathan tells us he will bring us a bottle of his best wine, and walks away.

"So, is this where you bring all of your girls??" I ask him while getting settled into my seat.

"Actually, you'd be the first. I only ever really bring my mom here." He tells me.

"Ah, so you're a momma's boy?" I tease.

"And I am not ashamed!" He says while laughing at me.

He continues talking and asks me where I grew up, and if I was a momma's girl.

"I grew up just outside of Kansas City. I guess you could say I am a momma's girl. Me and my mom were so close when I was a teenager, and really we still are." I tell him as he listened intently

"So Kansas City huh? Does that mean you grew up a Royals fan?" He questioned.

"Yes, me and my dad lived for the Royals. But it was really tough to watch them after 2015." I told him.

"Oh right, the year they won the World Series. How many years did that take, 30?" He asked.

"Yep, sadly. I still love the Royals, because I just feel like everyone that comes out of Kansas City comes out a better person." I shared with him.

"So you're telling me, you were a fan of Moose and Lo'Cain before you were a fan of me?!?!" He questioned.

I giggled and said "Who says I'm a fan of you?"

"Oh now that is just harsh Amelia" He says acting like he's actually sad.

"But you definitely played softball, right?" He asked.

"Sure did, I was pretty good too." I stated confidently.

"Yeah I can see that, you saved your own face today. Thank goodness." He told me, smiling.

"No thanks to you, Yelich." I said teasing him.

Nathan had come back with a bottle of wine and asked us if we knew what we wanted to eat. I hadn't even looked at the menu yet.

"Oh, I got so caught up talking. I haven't even looked at the menu yet." Christian said while laughing.

"Honestly, just surprise me. Whatever you like here, get me." I told Nathan, not really caring what I was going to eat.

"That'll work for me as well." Christian said raising his eyebrows, handing Nathan back our menus.

Christian and I continued talking for what felt like hours. When we both dismissed ourselves from the food Nathan had brought us. Christian paid for the meal, and tipped Nathan really well. Seeing how it was almost 2:00 in the morning.

We both headed for the door where the car was waiting for us. We both step into the car and the driver takes us back to the hotel.

"Thank you for dinner, I really needed that." I told him, genuinely meaning it.

"I had a lot of fun." He said smiling at me.

I could feel him inching closer to me in the back of this car. He rolled the partition up before putting his hand on my leg.
