Jayne was seething the whole drive to the bar. Her hands tightly wrung around the steering wheel of her car as she tried to contain her lead foot. She knew she wasn't coming home tonight, at least not until late. She didn't even want to look at Rafe after his back handed comment about Sam or his horrible temper tantrum he threw. This was the point she realized her marriage may be falling apart, and it ate her up from the inside out, her heart pounding, tears threatening to fall from her eyes, music blaring as she tried drowning her own thoughts out to the heavy metal music that didn't fit with her car or attire, but it calmed her.

She pulled up to the bar and turned the music down before taking a few deep breaths and pulling down the mirror. Checking her makeup, she grabbed her purse and pulled out her lipstick and applied a new coat before smacking her lips together and grabbing her bag.

Jayne's heels tapped against the wooden flooring of the bar as she swayed her hips towards the booth at the back of the little dive. "Wow. Jaynie. You've sure...grown!" Nathan said as he stood and wrapped his arms around her shoulders. She returned the hug and patted his back as she slightly melted into her friend.

"Shit, Nathan. I've missed you." She sighed as she pulled apart from him, taking note of the dark wedding band on his left ring finger. "Huh. So it's true. Who's the lucky lady?"

"Her name's Elena. Real great girl." Nathan said as he took hold of Jayne's left hand, his eyes opening wide in surprise when he saw the giant diamond ring smothering her finger. "Holy shit. Rafe sure has you marked. How is the bastard holding up after our visit?" Jayne snatched her hand away from Nathan - suddenly being 'marked' as Rafe's really, really bothered her.

"He's losing it more each minute. Sucks, actually." Jayne shrugged as she looked around the room to obviously look for Sam.

"Sam saw you coming in, so he's getting drinks." Nate said as Jayne's shoulders relaxed. "Not that I'm not happy to see you Nate. I just...he was dead." Jayne sighed as she sat down in the corner booth, her bum shifting more into the curve of the bench seat.

"Tell me about it. He just ... showed up on my doorstep. Like...some ghost. I'm actually still quite shocked even though it's been a month now." Nathan said as Jayne nodded, her mind wondering how much Sam even told Nate about what happened before he found his brother.

"And there's the most beautiful woman around." Sam said through a sultry smile as he placed two beers and a glass of rosè on the table before sliding into the booth next to Jayne. He placed a kiss on her temple as she smiled, her fingertips brushing down his jaw. Nathan sat on the other side of Jayne but not too close as he stayed relatively close to the end of the booth.

"Have any problems slipping away from Rafe?" Sam asked as his hand slid down to her thigh. "Don't say his name right now." Jayne said as she reached to grab her glass, the cold liquid tipping into her mouth. "Oh. So things..."

"Not good, Sam. Not fucking good. But what the hell, I get to go to Madagascar and be stuck in a fancy resort while he goes treasure hunting with the hopes of tracking you two down." Another gulp and she had effectively downed the pink liquid, her eyes not leaving the table.

Sam nodded at Nate to grab her another drink. Jayne grabbed his wrist and asked him to make it stronger than wine. He smiled and excused himself.

"Shit Jayne." Sam breathed out as he took hold of her chin and turned her head to him. "It was bound to happen, Sam. I'm glad you texted me though. I did not want to be around that psycho right now. I don't even want to go home tonight."

"Well, I could keep you company?" Sam said through a smirk as his hand got higher on her thigh. With Rafe being around, Jayne would've normally held back the urge, but his actions tonight made her not care about his feelings since he obviously didn't care about her's.
