I awoke to the sound of trumpets.

I wiped my eyes groggily and peered out my window to see what was going on. I saw a huge crowd of villagers, guards, and royal subjects. They were all by the main castle entrance, in the palace where King Steve was.

Suddenly I remembered something. “The nexus!” I thought out loud. I raced out the door, and ran through the crowds of people.

Then I found Steve next to the nexus. “King Steve!” I shouted. “Keegan, there you are. Where have you been?  We are about to make the announcement,” Steve said.

“Sorry, must of slept in,” I said “That’s alright. At least you are here now,” Steve said, as he cleared his throat to speak.

“Now listen lords and ladies. I am here to make a . . . .” Just then an elf raced up to the platform and shouted “Wait!”

“Hey, what’s the big idea! The King was just about to start his announcement!” I snapped.

“My apologies. It’s just that there is one more thing I forgot to tell you about the nexus,” the elf explained.

“What is it?” Steve asked.

“If the nexus breaks it will sacrifice something” the elf said.

Just then the audience gasped. “Sacrifice what?” I asked.

“I don’t know yet,” the elf said.

“Ah well, probably some diamonds or emeralds,” King Steve muttered.

“Well, okay. Then let’s put the catalyst in,” I said.

King Steve put the catalyst in the nexus.

Suddenly a huge monitor appeared that said “Are you sure?”  “It says are you sure?” I said. Just then the nexus changed again. “Wait am I reading this right?” I thought.  It said, “The lives of all good are bound to the nexus.”  King Steve and I exchanged shocked looks.

“What does it say?!” a voice came from the crowd. “It says . . . uh . . . ,” I began.

“It says that we need to pay it 3 diamonds,” King Steve finished.” “Everything is fine. Go back to you’re houses. The announcement is over!” he said. Everyone went back to their houses.

King Steve and I returned to the throne room.

“You didn’t tell them the truth. Why?” I asked. “I didn’t want a panic on our hands,” King Steve explained. “Oh. That’s a wise idea. But what if something happens to it?” I asked.

“Don’t worry about it. The nexus is very heavily guarded. It’s the most guarded spot in my kingdom, but don’t worry there will be a meeting about this.” King Steve said. “Okay then. Goodbye you’re Majesty!” I said. “Farewell,” Steve replied.

Just then I realized I hadn’t eaten a thing since yesterday, and I was starving. So I went and bought some food from the market. I was going to go back home, when I stopped suddenly.

“You know,” I thought to myself, “I feel like having breakfast at the kingdom’s Balcony Restaurant.” So, I turned around and headed towards the restaurant. When I got there, I opened my pack, and brought out my food. I had some pork and carrots.

While I was eating my food I saw something rather strange. “Is that a zombie?” I wondered. “Zombies usually come out at night. And why wasn’t it burning?” I thought. I figured I’d better warn King Steve.

I raced out the door and bolted into Steve’s throne room. “You’re Majesty! You’re Majesty!”  I shouted. “What? What?” Steve asked. “I saw a zombie. But it wasn’t just any zombie. This one was strange. it looked different and it didn’t burn. And it was just walking toward the kingdom walls,” I explained.

“Oh my Notch!” Steve exclaimed. “Come on! Let’s go to the walls!” he said. King Steve and I raced out of the throne room. I directed the King to the spot where I had spotted the zombie. When we got to the wall, there was a two block hole, where someone could fit in.

“What happened here?” King Steve asked.

“Oh, Your Majesty . . . .” the guard said has he knelt down.

“Please, just tell us what happened here,” the king prompted.

“Oh, right. Sorry, Your Majesty. What happened was, I was just chilling at my post, minding my own business, when I heard a noise. Just then a zombie broke a hole through the kingdom walls. I had to kill it,” the guard explained. Just then, I saw three more zombies, some fat looking spiders, and a few other mobs that I didn’t even recognize.

“Your Majesty, I strongly suggest that you both leave immediately!” the guard shouted.

“Come on. Let’s get out of here!” I agreed. Then King Steve and I left the scene.

We were racing back to the safety of King Steve’s throne room when, suddenly, a blue spider came flying in our direction.

“Duck!” I heard King Steve shout.

King Steve drew his diamond sword to confront the spider. With a swing from his sword, he sliced the spider’s head off.

“Come on” King Steve beaconed. We ran to his throne room.

“Did you see how high that spider flew?!” I exclaimed.

“I know! And remember all those mobs we saw back at the walls? Some of them I‘ve never even seen before!” King Steve exclaimed.

“Yeah. I know, right?” I said.

“I think we need to start the meeting now!” King Steve said. “Agreed,” I said.
