Chapter 3 - Future Crisis

Carla's POV

        As we wove through all of the giant buildings, I noticed that there were no people whatsoever. It was just completely empty. There was a deadly silence that whistled all through the city. I looked over at everyone, they all looked really worried, and Wendy, Lucy, and Happy seemed scared. "I guess everyone is too frightened to speak."  As we kept walking, I finally broke in, "What exactly are we looking for?"

        "We are looking for a cave, or passage that leads underground." Lucy said, "I would guess it would be something pretty mysterious looking. It will also most likely have some sort of structure around it, because I can't feel any of it's magical energy."

        "If you ask me, I would say this entire city looks mysterious..." Gray mumbled.

        Erza heavy sighed, and said, "This is getting us nowhere. We should split up. Wendy, you go with Natsu and Lucy, go search off to the North and West. Gray and I will go search to the East and South. Happy, Carla, you can decide which team to go on."

        We all nodded, and started heading off into different directions. Gray and Erza started going to the East, and Wendy, Natsu, Lucy, and Happy went off to the West. I just stayed put for a few moments. "Which team should I go on? There are already four people going to the West, so it would be more logical to go with Erza and Gray, but Wendy is going with Natsu's team... They are all moving pretty fast, so I need to decide soon... Wendy is my main priority, so I guess I will go with them." I started flying towards the group who was traveling West.

        After a while of walking around the deserted city, we came across a wall. It was really tall, and looked like it was blocking off something, "If it's for protection, was it for protecting the city from something outside? Or was it keeping the people in...? ...Well if it was keeping the people in, I would think that they would still be here." My eyes traveled across the entire length of the wall. I was looking for something abnormal, when my eyes hit it. Around 20 yards from where we are standing is a large opening.

        I flew in the direction of the hole, "What is that?"

        "What is what?" Lucy asked, looking in the direction I was flying. This caught the attention of the others, and they all stopped where they were and said, "What is that?"

        We all traveled to the opening, to see a staircase leading downwards into a darkness. We all just stopped, staring down into the darkness. "Do you think that the stone could be down there?" Wendy asked.

        "Maybe, I mean it was supposed to be under the city, and these stairs look like they probably lead under the city." Lucy replied.

        "Alright! Let's go!" Natsu shouted as he started descending the stairs. "Wait!" Lucy called, but Natsu kept walking down the stairs. We all looked at each other and nodded. Lucy started to go down first, then Wendy followed with me and Happy flying above.

        When we reached the bottom of the stairs, we see Natsu standing there with fire in his hands for light. We looked around us to see a long dark tunnel in front of us. It was straight for as long as I could see, which wasn't very far, considering the only thing that was allowing us to see, was Natsu's fire. 

        Lucy walked over to one of the walls. She placed her right hand delicately on the side, "These markings... They are very old." Lucy said running her hand along the wall, feeling each marking. "They are engraved in the wall, so this would have taken lots of time to construct."

        I landed and flew over to the wall. I reached up to touch the markings, but as soon as I touched the wall, I saw a vision. 

        "I was at a party, everyone was dressed up really fancy and nice. I saw everyone there, not just from our guild, but from Lamia Scale, Blue Pegasus, and Sabertooth. Everyone was laughing and having fun when I saw a flash of Lucy crying, and then back to the cheery party. The building suddenly burst into a blinding light, and that was all I could see. After a few seconds, the light cleared away, and instead of seeing the happy party again, I saw a giant hole in the floor where all the people were standing.

        It flashed, and I was inside a cave, not this exact one, but a different one. The walls had the same markings all over them, they were glowing! I then heard a voice, "Oh no, they are going to move again, hurry we have to get out of here!" I turned to see that the voice was coming from Lyon, a wizard from Lamia Scale, he was looking down the tunnel where these strange noises were coming from. He was talking to Chelia, Elfman, and Cana.

        Then it flashed again, and I saw Wendy, Erza, and Gray. They were battling this huge monster, it looked almost like a mix between a crocodile, and a bird. It had feather wings, and a crocodile-like body. They looked pretty beat up, like they were fighting the monster. They had it cornered and were focusing their energy, ready to make an attack on it all at once. Before they could attack it, the monster let out a huge ball of energy straight at Wendy. I heard a mix of loud screams, a pain filled cry from Wendy, and shouts from Erza and Gray. "Wendy!" They both said at the same time.

        Another flash, and I was outside. I was in a tall grassy field at night. I saw Natsu and Lucy standing under the moonlight, Lucy looked like she was in pain, when she grabbed her head and started shouting, "I can't do it! I can't take it!" Natsu looked frightened, he said, "Just calm down, it's okay! You will be fine!" Lucy looked down at her hands, and then said with a shaky voice, "But what if it can't be controlled...?"

        It flashed yet again, and I was inside a cave. It wasn't like the cave I was in before, this one was huge. There was a man in the middle, and he was surrounded by a ton of magic. He had his eyes closed, and he started to float slowly into the air. While this was happening, I heard small whispers all around me, "Dorin... Irain..." I heard it over and over, "Dorin... Irain..."

        There was a flash once more, and I saw Lucy, she was lying on the ground, she looked very beat up and bruised. She had this aroma of magic all around her. Then it flashed again, and I saw Natsu, he looked like he had been crying, and looked very mad."

        "Carla!" I heard Wendy say. I was on the ground, everyone was crowded around me. 

        "What happened?" I say shakily. They all looked for concerned. "Just what exactly happened?"

        "You had touched the wall, and then collapsed." Lucy said worriedly. Memories of my vision flooded back into my memory. "Oh yeah, I had a vision."

        "Like one from the future?" Happy asked, I nodded. "What was it about?" Wendy asked me. I remembered her painful scream, I closed my eyes and just shook my head. I didn't want to tell them, because based on what I saw, a lot was going to happen, and it was not going to be good.
