The Serenity Stone [Fairy Tail Fanfic]

Chapter 4 - Raner

        Hey guys! So I wanted to thank everyone that has been reading my story! When I saw that I got my first read, I almost screamed! Now that there is over ten of you, I'm freaking out!!! Thank you so much!!!!! Okay I will go back to the story now.

Natsu's POV

        Something about the look on Carla's face made me unsure. She looked frightened and uneasy. She didn't want to tell us what she saw, she usually tells us... "What did she see?" 

        As Carla began to come back to her usual self, the ground started to rumble, then the walls started to vibrate. There was this sound that was coming from down the tunnel. "What is that?!?!" Lucy screamed covering her ears. The sound gradually got louder, until all of us had our hands over our ears. The once vibrating walls started to shake and we all fell over. The tunnel ceiling looked as though it were about to collapse, "We have to get out of here!" I screamed. I don't think anyone heard me though, because they had the same expression. They were squeezing their eyes shut, and pressing their hands against the sides of their heads.

        After about twenty seconds, the rumbling of the tunnel, and the sound coming from the darkness stopped. It didn't gradually stop either. It just stopped, dead silence. As the others began to realize that the chaos stopped, they slowly took their hands away from their ears. "What was that?" Wendy asked with a shaky voice.

        "I don't know, but it definitely wasn't good." Lucy replied, looking down into the darkness. 

        "Do you think it has something to do with the stone?" Happy asked. After he asked I heard this faint voice, I couldn't really tell what it was so I listened harder.

        "It is definitely a possi-" Lucy was cut off by me, "Shhhh!" She just looked at me. "Do you hear that?"

        "Hear what?" She started listening. Everyone was silent.

        "I don't hear anything," Happy said. I listened in, and heard a faint, "Come to me... I call upon thee to come..." 

       "There is someone down there." I stated "It's saying, come to me, I call upon thee to come."

        We all started walking as quietly as we could down the dark corridor. As we got closer, I think the others started to hear it as well, because their facial expressions seemed different. 

        "Only a little longer... just a little longer until his plan becomes a reality."

        The voice got louder as we got farther down the tunnel. We kept moving forward until the man was right around the corner. We all looked at each other and nodded. We all came around the corner ready to fight. As we went around the corner, I saw a man in the middle of a large cave. He had his hands clutched around a glowing sphere. It was on a pedestal, and it was raised up in the air. "Glowing object in the center of the room, radiates magic energy? That has to be the Serenity Stone!"

        "Who are you?" I growled at him. He just looked up in surprise. His eyes were wide, and his mouth was hanging open slightly. Then, as he looked around at us, his surprised expression turned into a faint smile. "I think I should be the one asking you that question." He said, as his slight smile became a broad smile.

       "We are Fairy Tail wizards! It looks like you have something that belongs to us." I said to him with a stern voice. "Oh I don't know, I'm pretty sure this stone belongs to me, Raner." He teased.

        "We are here to take that stone, and give it to someone who can control it's power!" Lucy told him.

        "Do you even know what it does?" We all looked down, none of us actually knew what it does, so he got us there. He started to laugh, "You mean, you came all this way in search of a stone, and you don't even know what it does?" After his laughter died down, He looked at us and said, "The Serenity Stone has the magic qualities that allow it to give a spirit a body. I am planning on taking it to my master so that he can use its abilities to make the world better. He is going to make the world into a place where there are only strong wizards. Only wizards who can stand their ground, no one else. That way the magic that is around us is used correctly and not wasted by measly wizards who don't know what they are doing." He said with a look of disgust. 

        "I'm sorry, but that is never going to happen." Lucy told him. "And why is that?" He asked her with cold eyes. "Because we will not let you use it, we are taking it from you." She replied with a similar icy glare.

        "Well you are too late," he said as he turned to the stone. "Oh great stone of Serenity, I call upon thee to awaken!" The stone started to glow even brighter. I was just about to launch myself at Raner, when I hear a squeal of pain from Lucy. When I looked at Lucy, she was on her knees, clutching her arms. She had this bright light starting to come from her.

        "Lucy!" Wendy ran over to Lucy. Raner stopped mid-way through his sentence, and looked over at Lucy. His eyes grew very wide.

        "You're the one!" He pointed at her, "You're the one who possesses the Haven!" He started walking over towards Lucy. I jumped in front of her, "You are not touching Lucy," I said, flames growing around my body. I heard another scream from Lucy, and light around her started glowing brighter.

        "You must to let me have her. She has a magic ability that can change everything!" He said, as his eyes turned dark.

        "No." I told him. "Whatever happens, I will not let him have Lucy!" He looked at me with hatred. "Fine, if you won't let me have her, then I will take her from you!" He flung himself at me, but I was ready. I jumped off to the side, making him miss me. "Ice bombs!" He yelled as bombs rained from the sky. "Happy!" I yelled.

        "Aye sir!" he yelled back as he grabbed my back and flew me upward. The bombs exploded below us. "Fire Dragon Roar!" I screamed as a tornado of flames came out of my mouth. He dodged the attack, and stared at me, "Flame huh? Well two can play at that game. Fire bombs!" A bunch of bombs came flying at me. I swerved left and right, allowing all of the bombs to miss me. The exploded into a bunch of flames on the wall behind me. I turned around and started eating the flames. "Ah, thanks for the meal," I said to him, wiping my mouth. 

        He looked at me with a look of surprise, but then said, "Water bombs!" These came at a lightning speed from all directions. I tried to dodge them all, but I got hit by two of them, which sent me flying into a wall. Tons of rocks started piling on top of me. I started to feel exhausted. "This guy is tough, it's going to be hard." I tried to push some of the rocks off of me, but failed miserably.

        Out of the piles of rocks, came a scream from Lucy. "Lucy! I have to protect her! She could be getting taken away by Raner by now!" I felt heat all around me, then all of the rocks busted off of me. There were flames all around me, I looked at him through dark eyes. He was very close to Lucy. He had turned to face me, ready to attack me, but I was one step ahead of him. "Dragon Slayer's Secret Art, Crimson Lotus: Fire Dragon's Fist!" I yelled as my fist erupted into burning flames. He put his arms up to block my attack, but I was too strong, I hit him so hard at a downward angle, that after he took the hit, he was laying on the ground, his body embedded into the floor.
