CAMILLE

"I'll pick you up tomorrow at ten, okay? Our flight is at two and we need to be at the airport in good time," Charles brushed his fingers through his hair after stopping the car outside of Max's apartment. "We can grab lunch before we fly."

Charles and I made plans to visit my parents in Amsterdam for a few days and chose to fly shortly after we arrived home from Abu Dhabi. I was feeling a little jet lagged, but since we landed a few hours ago, I managed to keep myself awake. I was staying with Max tonight, after spending less time with him than usual over the weekend, plus because I would be out of the country for a few days.

"I'll miss you, Camille, but I'll call you later, okay?" Charles leaned over and brushed his lips across mine softly. "Have a nice night, I love you."

He left a sweet kiss against my lips whilst holding onto my neck carefully with his hand. His touch made me feel a little weak at the knees, and as I unfastened my seatbelt, Charles copied me and jumped out of his car, to collect my suitcase from the backseat. He placed it on the pavement beside me, before taking hold of my fingers again.

"Thanks for dropping me, baby," I placed my finger by his hair and brushed his hair backwards, so that it wasn't covering his eyes. "I'll see you in the morning and will speak to you later. I love you."

I pecked his lips a few times, smiling onto them when I felt Charles use his spare hand to pull me closer into his warm body by my waist. When I pulled away, I let go of his fingers after giving them a reassuring rub, then headed towards the front door of Max's apartment, dragging my case behind me. As I got to the door and shoved my key into the lock, I turned around and saw Charles sitting in the car again, waving at me as he switched on the engine. As I stepped inside the apartment and took in the sweet scent of mine and Max's home, I looked back to see Charles blowing me a kiss, heading down the street as I shut the door and locked it behind me.

"Max, I'm home!" I allowed my voice to ring out through the apartment and I heard my best friend's footsteps heading in my direction. He wore a large smile on his face and he lifted me into his arms when he saw me standing at the door. "Hi. I've missed you."

"I've missed you so much, even though I've spent the past few days with you," Max dropped me back to my feet and wheeled my suitcase to my bedroom, as I followed behind him. "What time are you leaving tomorrow?"

"Charles is coming at ten to pick me up to drive to the airport," I smiled, sitting on my bed and exhaling as I leaned backwards and pressed my neck into my pillow. "I need to sort all my shit out from the weekend, then pack my case again."

"I'll help you, then we can make dinner," Max suggested, my stomach grumbling at the mention of food. I'd only eaten some fruit and yoghurt when I arrived at Charles' apartment from the airport. "Have you eaten already?"

"No! I'm so hungry," I giggled, as Max lay himself down beside me, tilting his head to the side so that he could look at me comfortably. "So your plan sounds good. It's nearly five though, so we really should start unpacking my case and sorting out the laundry. Then, I can repack it and make sure it's prepared for the morning. I won't need to take my big suitcase because I have clothes at my parent's house."

Max nodded, as he slipped over towards the door, holding onto the frame as he pushed his body into the corridor, coming back with a laundry basket and placing it beside my case. He dropped it beside my suitcase, before unzipping my bag and starting to remove my belongings, all whilst I laid on the bed.

"Are you coming to help?" A chuckle left Max's lips as he glanced over in my direction. I nodded, yawning and rubbing my eyes but sitting up and fixing my hair. I walked slowly to Max, sitting myself on the floor beside him and my suitcase, reaching for all my dirty clothes and throwing them into the basket.
