Maya POV:

"Obviously not h-aha" I laughed a nervous laugh and shook my head awkwardly.

"But don't go anywhere. I'll go change in a minute. Don't leave me and go by yourself cause I swear to Jesus I will roast you" I threatened him by my most serious face and narrowed eyes.

I thought I threatened him at least but he just shrugged and went through the broken door. Not wasting a second I ran into mine and Forrest's shared bedroom and threw the closet's door open.

I took the first thing I saw which happened to be my purple wool sweater. I found a blue jeans too on the bottom of the closet and quickly wore it. It took me 40 seconds to do all of those while doing my hair in the process too.

I took my only winter coat that I have and quickly marched outside to face Carter talking to someone in the doorway

I took my only winter coat that I have and quickly marched outside to face Carter talking to someone in the doorway.

"Fix this by tomorrow and tell the boys to go home" he told the man standing next to him. But somehow the man he was talking to looked all too familiar, like I have seen somewhere. He had this big bruise on his jaw, a black eye and a cut on his lips.

Oh yeah right! I knew it, he is the man from this afternoon I saw him multiple times today, near the bus, just outside of our building too. He looked all suspicious and I even saw him near my university. But the question is why is he talking to Carter? If he was spying on me then let me you he was doing a pretty bad job. But wait! If he really was spying on me, does that mean Carter was the one actually behind it since the man works for him?

"Ughm" I cleared my throat and walked in the living room. Carter turned around to face me while dismissing the man on the doorway. He came towards me, looking deeply into my eyes and for a second I thought he was coming for me but he walked right passed me, with his cold eyes suddenly diverting from me to something behind me. You know coldness doesn't really match his pretty golden hazel color. They should be more like, you know bright and warm but then again who am I even talking about.

"Can we go now?" I asked impatiently.

"Yes just wait! Let me take my gun" yeah right his gun he went in the kitchen and came back with his pistol on his hands.

"Lets go" he said while putting the gun on his sides.

"Wait! What about the door?"I asked concerned."I just can't leave the apartment with a broken door"

"What are you even so afraid of losing here" he looked around the living room like it didn't matter if I leave the house with literally no door.

"Excuse me! My whole apartment" I esclaimed and before he could something else "someone could trash this place or burn it down for all I know. I can't take that risk, this place is way too sentimental for me to witness that" I cut him off with my own argument.

"Chill out, no one's free enough to burn down this place for no reason at all. And btw I've talked to my men, the door will be fixed in an hour or so. No need to exaggerate" he rolled his eyes and walked passed me.
