Arthur pov~
Few hours earlier~I walked through my office door and sat on the couch sighing.
"I told you not to meet him, didn't I? Now look what happened." Carter exclaimed his eyes filled with concern.
"Come on chill out, I am still alive, ain't I?" I smiled.
"Arthur I am serious, thank God that girl was a doctor or else you'd be dead by no-" I wasn't listening anymore, all I could hear was a distant voice and a pair of mesmerising forrest green eyes looking back at me. They looked so ethereal and full of life, joy and innocence, but they held this way too familiar sadness too. Sadness of longing and loneliness like they have lost someone really dear to them.
"Arthur Arthur are you even listening to me" Carter waved his hand in front of me breaking the bubble of thoughts around me.
"Uh-h yeah yeah what were you saying?" I cleared my throat.
He looked at me suspiciously for a minute and before he could say something more I changed the subject.
"Are there enough men guarding the building?" I asked him while scrolling through my phone. I was pretending as if I didn't really cared that much but I don't know there was this thing bothering me from the inside that I had to know if she was alright, even though I knew I shouldn't be even thinking about her.
"Yes and I even asked them to never leave Forrest out of their sight just in case" Carter answered back while sitting on the side couch.
"And her sister?" I asked, i had to make sure they were protected, I don't want them to be hurt because of my recklessness. I was stupid enough to ask for her help, i just made the matter worse. By the look of it Stefan can do anything to get to me and to do that he would surely use Forrest.
"Sister?" He looked confused oh yeah i haven't told him about her sister- or wait is she even her sister?
"I don't know there was this other girl with her when she opened the door so I assumed she was her sister" I put away my phone and put my hands on the table, my fingers tapping on it.
"Great! one more person to look after now" he chuckled sarcastically. He said it as if he had another choice beside following my order.
I ignored him and opened my laptop to answer some of my mails when I suddenly remember something.
"Wait weren't you flying back last night?" I remember him saying he was going to leave at midnight then how did he find me?
"Yeah that was the plan but i got a call from Clint-" he is my head security guard "saying you left without him and thats when I got really suspicious. I had already a bad feeling about this meeting so I cancelled my flight and waited for you but you didn't show up even after several hours. I tried calling you but you didn't answer any of them. So I tracked your phone-"
"Wait you tracked my phone?" I asked raising my brows. He tracked down my phone? No one can do that but it seems there was an exception.
"Duh i am your brother of course, it was difficult but not impossible" he winked making me chuckle.
"Yeah so after tracking you, we found your car stranded in front an old garage. Your phone was inside it but with no one in sight, so we checked everywhere; the garage, the streets but to no luck. And when they found a bullet mark on your car and blood on the ground I got so worried-"
"Oh so you were indeed worried" I smirked teasing.
He laughed nervously "of course not I was trying find your reckless ass so mom wouldn't worry-" I cut him off when he mentioned
