Nick felt like his head was going to explode. He put on a brave face for the others though.
"Really, guys, it's nothing, I'm fine. I'm just going to excuse myself to deal with my... skittish friend."🔷 🔷 🔷
Just as soon as Nick left the room, Alex let out a sigh. He didn't realize it before, but he had been holding his breath. "Is it just me, or is he like... Not actually okay like he says he is?" Alex still seemed dazed from his little incident, but he was starting to wake up slowly... very slowly.

Nick could hear Vix screaming inside his head.
"God, what is your problem?!" Nick shouted, and a teacher glared at him as she walked by.
"Sorry." he whispered with an awkward wave.He then re focused on Vix. "What's going on with you?" He asked more gently this time.
'I don't know, it just hurts!' Vix wailed. 'Nick, please, make it stop! Whatever you're doing, make it stop!' Nick felt a splitting pain in his head, and Vix kept crying out inside him. It got so bad, that Nick finally just sank into a corner and banged his head against a wall as tears streamed down his cheeks.
Suddenly a flash of images began to rush through Nick's mind.
Kind of like memories, but... Not his. He kept hitting his head, but only subconsciously now, for he had grown more fascinated with the images going through his brain than his own agony. He saw flashes of people- or things fighting. Like some kind of war, but the pictures were moving too fast to really understand a lot of it. Then at certain points the pictures would slow down, like the memories meant something deeper to Vix. Vix was captured. Nick couldn't really tell what was going on, other than the parts where they tortured Vix and he couldn't even bear to see- remember that. Then he saw it. That damn blue light. A dark figure walked up to Vix, who was strapped down to a table, and the light got brighter, and brighter, until it felt like it was burning. The other figure seemed to be fine, but Vix was in so much pain he blacked out.
Just then, Nick felt a hand on his shoulder. He opened his eyes, which he didn't even know were closed to begin with, and there was Alex. "Hey, hey, it's okay, it's me." Alex said. Nick just met him that day! 'Hey it's okay, it's me' didn't really mean much coming from a stranger.
Cassie poked her head out from the nurses room. "Dude, are you okay? We could hear you banging your head against the wall." Nick glared at Cassie, then looked at Alex.
He dried his tears and stood up, the floor was spinning a little, but he didn't care. "I'm fine." He answered scowling. "Get rid of that damn rock." He started to walk away.
"Hey, what happened? Where are you going?" Alex asked.
"Nothing happened. I got a headache. I'm going back to class now." Nick stumbled and fell to the floor, and when he looked up there was thick purple syrup dripping from his nose.
"GROSS!" exclaimed Cassie, even as she stared at it with fascination.
"Is that like... Vix's blood?!" Alex looked worried, so Cassie put an arm around him. Of course, he flinched, still getting used to this whole Comfort touch thing.
"I don't know, this has never happened before. Vix, what's up buddy?" Nick seemed a little scared.
'Just some minor bodily set backs, that's all.' Vix promised.
"Bodily set backs?"
'Yeah, I seem to be leaking... I think your kind calls it blood.'
"Are you okay?!" Nick had grown close to Vix over the years. He may have been a pain in Nick's ass, but he was Nick's best friend, and nothing could get in the way of that. They were connected now.
