It's been a few weeks since the kiss, and everything had gone back to normal. Roman had been off on more adventures this week, than the last month. Virgil hadn't been out of his room very often. Patton was constantly cleaning, joking, and cooking. I've been attached to my empty composition notebook. I tap my pen on the side of the notebook as I continued thinking. The sunlight shined through the living room window as it glared on my glasses. I took a deep lingering sigh and push up my glasses. "Loggi?" I looked over where the voice came from and it turned out to be Patton, "Yes Morality?"
"Would you like to help me with baking?" He said with his bright freckled dimple smile that I love. "Why not?" I stood and set my notebook on the couch as I pushed my glasses up the bridge of my nose. Patton nodded and turned on his heel before skipping off into the kitchen. I couldn't help but smile slightly at his pure adorableness. I put my pen in my pocket for safekeeping before walking off to the kitchen. As soon as I walked in, something was put over my head and rested on my shoulders. I looked down at it to see that it was indeed an apron that Patton had put on me. Patton was wearing a bright dorky smile as he turned to his cookie dough, that was sitting in a bowl on the stove. There was food coloring lined up on the counter in an assortment of light blues, navys, purples, and reds. I walked over to Patton, peaking over his shoulder to see him breaking up and putting the sugar cookie dough evenly into 8 bowls. "Patton?" I said, walking over to the sink and turning on the faucet. "Yessum?" Patton replied with shear happiness in his tone. "What are we exactly making, also, what do you want me to help you with?" I say while washing my hands with lavender dawn hand soap and lukewarm water. Patton seemed to take a minute before responding, "We're making Tie Dye Cookies and you are here to help me roll out the dough and put it in the oven because—" He carried it out as he seemed to be concentrating. "You know how I always burn myself when putting the cookies in the oven." I turned off the faucet, "Ah. Yes." I chuckled just slightly at all the times Patton had gotten scared by the heat radiating from the oven, causing him to think that he burnt himself. I dried off my hands and walked over to Patton. He had already mixed one of each color into one bowl, of its own, into the dough. "You take half and start making them into dough logs" Patton looked at me, while explaining. I looked to him and gave a slight smile with an understanding nod. I grabbed the lighter navy and began to roll it into a log, rolling it back and forth, pushing slightly from the middle, out. After I finished that one I started on the rest, which included the regular navy, lavender, and regular old purple. Patton did the other half and admired his work when he finished. He looked like a proud father to a kid that just hit a homerun in a game of baseball. He had his hands on his hips whilst giving the raw cookies a bright smile. Patton grabbed the ropes and put them all together and twisting them together. After he finished twisting/mixing them together, we wrapped it in parchment paper and put it in the fridge. Now it was time to wait! That being hard for Patton, we move out into the living room and watch a movie on the television. Patton seemed jittery while watching the television that was playing a show called, something along the lines of, Animaniacs. It was shown as a children's cartoon but there definitely was some adult jokes that were hidden enough that a kid wouldn't understand them. With a joke like, "Find prints!" "I found prince!" "No, fingerprints!" "No thanks." With that the youngest of the siblings threw prince out the window of the boat. I couldn't help but crack up at the inappropriate joke, but Patton just looked at me with confusion. There was no doubting that Patton was as innocent as he seemed, especially when he misuses the term, adultery. After cutting and putting the cookies in the oven for a half an hour, it signaled that the cookies were done by figuratively screaming at us. Patton and I make our way to the kitchen, Patton grabbing oven mitts. Just as normal, Patton felt the heat and thought he was burned, screeching. I just chuckled and walked over, taking the extra oven mitts and putting them on. I have to admit, the waves were burning, but Patton really did overreact to the heat. I set the cooking tray onto the stove top, closing the oven and turning the oven off. Later after the cookies were cooled down from sitting, we called the other two out and we snacked on certain cookies that we each took dibs on.
