Back at the manor Bruce Wayne decided to invite his current girlfriend over for a date. Y/n and Damian were told to stay in their rooms as to not disturb the couple. But they knew it was because no one was supposed to know they existed. At least not yet. But as time went on they got bored. Apparently they both had the same idea when they met each other in the library. Y/n ignored every attempt he made at a conversation until the point where he just gave up and read his book silently on the couch. The tween girl climbed the ladder effortlessly and chose the book she was currently reading. Attempting to find out who their uninvited guest was back at the factory. Nothing seemed to turn up. The natural moonlight from the windows was an excellent light source.

As she turned the page Y/n heard something, the doors opened and Samantha and Bruce entered the dark room. The girl peered over the railing in silence viewing the two. She glanced down and saw Damian asleep.

I wonder how long it takes for him to wake up.

“A new hobby?” the woman in white asked. Bruce gestured to the ceramic model of Gotham City that erected in the middle of the room.

“An old one actually. The care and feeding of Gotham City.”

“Hm,” the blonde hummed. “That’s one of the things that drew us together, wasn’t it?” She began to circle the table, “The Waynes and the Vanavers have both spent generations trying to make this city great.”

“My father had a saying:,” Bruce started, “‘Tomorrow is one dream away.’ Sentimental words, I know but they stayed with me even after my parents were killed.” His date moved to him, her face fell at the mention of his childhood trauma. “Rather than focus on the demons, on the darkness, on all that’s wrong with Gotham, something I’ve been guilty of for too many years,” he wrapped an arm around her slim waist. “It’s time to focus on how exceptional this city is.” Then a blue hologram emerged from the model. It showed new tracks and taller buildings. It showed one of Gotham’s possible futures. “And how much better it can be, will be, tomorrow. But before we can build it, we have to dream it. And luckily I have the imagination and the capital to do both.”

Y/n rolled her eyes.

What is he doing? Giving a job presentation?

Samantha leaned to him, “And all they write about is the billionaire playboy.”

“Not to worry,” Bruce smirked. “He’s here too.” The couple began to kiss. Y/n silently groaned hoping nothing would happen further than a kiss. She didn’t want to witness anything else. To her rescue, the two were interrupted by Damian’s snoring.

He doesn’t snore.

The boy yawned and grunted as he stretched his arms over his raven haired head. He rubbed his eyes as the book fell into the couch. “Unh, I was reading. I must’ve fallen asleep. What’s - what’s going on?” He questioned. Y/n suppressed a laugh. His acting in this case wasn’t very good. She could tell he was awake for some time.

“Oh, and who might this be?” Samantha gestured to the boy. Bruce had a slight look of panic in his face.

“I’m Damian,” he introduced. “Bruce’s-”

“My ward. Well, he will be soon.”

The woman looked at her boyfriend. “That’s twice you’ve surprised me tonight.”

“Damian’s had a difficult life,” Damian’s father kneeled down to his height. “And I don’t want those vultures in the press corps descending on him just yet.”

Why do I feel compelled to take a picture soon?

Bruce explained how he has been keeping ‘his ward’ a secret and apologized to Samantha. He waved him off and crouched down slightly. Y/n could tell where this was going and zoomed in on her phone just in time to snap a few pictures of Samantha squeezing Damian’s face. He looked disgusted as he rubbed his cheeks. Y/n quickly sent them to Damian as a joke. His phone pinged just as Bruce’s date’s did. Damian checked his and grunted quietly. He wasn’t fond of the laughing emojis Y/n sent. Samantha cut their time short by announcing she had to leave for work. She gave Bruce a quick sloppy kiss. Damian rolled his eyes and looked at Y/n who was quietly laughing upstairs. Sam blew a kiss before she left.
