After weeks of being on the road the royal company and the Starks arrive at Kingslanding. One would have thought that this would be the home of a great ruler, but looking around Arabella could only look with disgust. Not because of the people, but because of the conditions they were living in. She vowed that she would look into this to help the people of this once amazing city. She also knew that being new to the city it would be best to stay on the graces of the many, not the few.
Upon arriving at the grand castle, a servant arrived to greet the family. He was very welcoming until he had inform Eddard Stark that there was a grand council meeting starting. When Lord Stark took a step forward the poor servant asked if he wanted to bathe first. Arabella felt sorry for the poor man, who only got a look of confusion from her father before he walked off towards the castle with the servant in tow.
Arabella took the lead in getting all of their items into the Tower of the Hand. Her septa took to caring for her two sisters, which was a task all on its own. Upon all the items being placed in their proper rooms, Arabella assisted with getting her items unpacked, while the servants helped her sisters. When all was finished Arabella decided it was best to walk around and see the place she would call home for the time being.
Arabella had barely made it a corner before she bumped into the man who held her attention for most of the trip in.
"Ah, Lady Arabella, off to see some sights, I believe," his voice seemingly snarky.
"I am off to get my bearings, Ser Jaime. Care you escort me, or shall I wander around until I get lost,"
"I believe I have a few moments to spare, best to enjoy it with good company, before the birds start to sing,"
Arabella looks at the man confused, him simply shook his head, and held his arm out. Arabella took it graciously and let him lead the tour. He lead her down to the crypts where the dragon skulls were kept. Upon arriving down Arabella felt a shiver creep down her back, almost as if something was awakening within.
"I must warn you my lady, that things here are not as they appear. Do not trust anyone, not even your family, or me," Jaime tells the young woman he wishes to protect from anyone even himself if need be.
"What if I want to trust you," she asked looking over her companion.
"That would be unwise, Bella. But it would be the most unwise to trust Lord Baelish, or my family,"
"Jaime, why are you warning me," she questioned confused as to why.
"I feel like I need to. This is a dangerous place you have come to, and I am not able to protect you. Not yet anyway, but I can promise you I will try my best," Jaime promises.
"Jaime, I do not wish for harm to come to you,"
"Trust me, no one dares to cross me," he tells her. Arabella smiles at him and he swears his heart skipped a beat.
"Do you happen to know when they plan to wed us," Arabella asks as she sits down by one of the benches. Jaime sits next to her and looks over her face.
"According to the King sometime soon. He is thinking before the tournament to celebrate both our wedding and your father becoming hand of the King," he tells her.
"Hmm, so soon then," Arabella looks out down the hall, "Do you even want this".
"Can I say no," he tells her.
"You can. I would understand, you wanted to be a knight. Fighting. Planning wars, and everything. I can say no as well, I just wanted to be free. But getting to know you and spend time with you, I don't mind it anymore," she tells him looking over the man who sat beside her. Her companion looks over her as well.
"I don't mind it anymore either," he tells her looking into her eyes, again he swears her eyes were a light lilac in color. He leans closer to her and she leans in as well. Their faces were so close their breaths were each other's faces. Their lips barely grazed another when suddenly Jaime went full in pressing his lips into hers. A strange feeling flowed through the other, neither knowing what the actual feeling is, but enjoying every minute of it.
