Sams P.O.V:
We entered a motel that gave me a fuzzy, comforting feel as we entered. The red walls made me feel welcomed, the gold specks of paint catching my eye. My shoes slipped along the tiled floor, mud trailing behind.
Arms took me around the opposite shoulder, Bucky transferring me into his arms from Maddie's grip. The smell of sweat and dirt filled my lungs as I limped with Bucky over to a set of velvet coloured chairs.
Taking my arms off from around Bucky's shoulder, I collapsed onto the seat. I felt myself sink into the plush cushions as Barnes takes a seat close to me. I watched with lazy eyes as Maddie took a key from the receptionist.
Bucky was watching intently, bouncing his leg up and down as his arms spread across the back of the couch. I leant my head against the arm rest, my pale body shivering. The couch was comfy, but the fabric rubbed against my sore skin.
Maddie approached us, my fragile body refusing to move. "Come on, we got a place on the fourth floor." Maddie grabbed the backpack, Bucky taking my hands and pulling me to my feet.
I groan, my leg was only now giving me the most amount of pain. It started pulsing and throbbing through the bandage. My body instantly relaxes from Bucky's help, walking slowly along side him.
His arm is around my waist, mine reaching around his tall, broad shoulders. "We are not walking up four flights of stairs." I grumble, giving them the stink eye. "Chill, we aren't that mean."
Maddie rolls her eyes, clicking the button on the lift. Bucky continues to help me as the doors open. Maddie clicks number four as I lean against the rail, clutching onto it with clammy hands. I feel my stomach rise as the elevator does, my grip tightening.
I focus on the reflection staring back at me, not wanting to pass out. I sigh as it dings, the doors opening. I'm greeted by carpeted floor, my legs wobbling as I walk out. "Hey now, don't walk out without some help, you're going to pass out."
I stop advancing forwards, Bucky pulling me back into his warm body. "What no, I'm fine. We're almost there." I try to shove him off me, feeling like a drag towards the man. "Sam, just accept it, okay?"
I grumble, too tired to protest. He puts his hand under my arms, pulling most of my weight into his arms. The hallway was long and wide, no one in sight as we walked down to our door. "Here it is."
243. The keys jingle in the lock, Maddie eagerly pushing the door open to reveal a small couch, a little island for a kitchen with small cabinets. One room was off to the left, another one off right in front of it.
Maddie walks briskly over to the couch, falling face first into the material. I wave off Bucky, making my way slowly into the small kitchen. I hold onto the bench top for support as I search the cabinets.
Glasses, plates and cutlery, but no food. Packets of tea and coffee are displayed, but no edible food. I look over my shoulder and see Bucky checking on Maddie. His hand was pressed on the small of her back, her mumbling in response.
"You alright.... stampcrab." Maddie closes her eyes briefly, not listening to Bucky's concerns and near insults. I sigh, pushing my hair back into my messy ponytail. I close my eyes, pinching the bridge of my nose.
I was tired, physically exhausted and frustrated. I just want some food. I feel Bucky's eyes on me, his footsteps echoing around the small room. I peel my eyes open, turning my body to face the soldier behind me.
He looks right at me, his crystal blue eyes clear with no sign of clouding over. "You need to rest, Sam. We can sort this out in the morning." He takes a step towards me. "But I can't."
