Soul Break

Dekotas Pov:
"Lady Dekota wake up!" I was woken up by Lilie as she frantically shook me "uggh I'm up, I'm up" I said as I rubbed my still sleepy eyes "get changed, Lord Domanic and Lady Ashlie wish to see you" Lillie said as she opened the blinds of my window "did they say why they wish to see me this early?" I asked as I got up and went to get some fresh clothes "no, they only told me to tell you that you are needed", "alright Lilie".

After I finished getting ready I started to make my way to my parents room, once I got their I could sense an uneasy soul aura coming from the room so it must not be good. I opened the door to the room to see my father sitting next to the bed as my mother was lying on the bed.
"Hello, um you wished to see me?" I asked as I was still near the door "y-yes we do, we have some news for you but I think you might already know" my father said a little uneasy "I don't understa-!" As I got closer I realized what he meant, I couldn't even finish my sentence because of it. "I guess you saw" my mother said a little weak as a tears went down her face "w-wha-what how d-did this even h-happen it shouldn't h-have happened?!" I said as a million tears started to flow down my face "well it started happening around the time your grandmother passed away" my mother explained as calm as she could "so that's why I wasn't aloud to be near you! Because you knew that I would see how broken your soul was! To save me from the sorow I would experience around you!" I screamed as I was breaking down to the ground not knowing how to comprehend what I was seeing and feeling. "I know we shouldn't have done that but was only way to keep you safe and to make sure your soul-" my father tried to say "SO MY SOUL DOESN'T BREAK, is that what you were going to say, how did you even know her soul was broken I'm the only one in this whole world that can see souls!" I yelled while I was still crying "my father saw and told us" my mother said as her tears were still running down her face.

"We understand how you feel but, you need to stay strong and keep your head high alright, we don't want you to die because of this" my father said as he tried to calm me down "I-I need to go" I said as I ran out the door going to my room to get changed and getting into my armor and grabbing my sword before heading off to the abandoned house. Before I could leave I was stopped by Damitri "Dekota where are you going and why are you wearing armor?" He asked a little concerned "Leave me alone!" I yelled before I pulled away and ran off to the abandoned house, "Dekota wait!" I heard Dimitri yell but I kept running without looking back.

Damitris Pov:
"Leave me alone!" As I heard her yell those words I could see tears flowing down her face before she ran off, 'did I do something to upset her?' "Dekota wait!" I yelled but she kept running, she didn't even hesitate to look back. I started to run after her, and for someone who doesn't seem to run a lot, she can run fast. Before I knew it I was near the abandoned house and her sent was really strong here, so she must be going there. Before I went inside the house I could hear her swinging her sword while hitting something as she screamed and cried at the same time. "Why did they have to tell me now, WHY DIDN'T THEY TELL ME BEFORE, WHY COULDN'T I SEE WHAT SHE WAS GOING THROUGH!!!" I heard her screaming and crying "w-why... couldn't I be s-see it" I heard her starting to sob so loud it sounded like someone was stabbed in the leg. I ran inside to see her collapsed on the ground crying a river of tears, I guess she didn't notice me enter the house since she didn't even seem fazed by my presence. As she was crying I decided to go comfort her. "Hey, its ok, its going to be ok" she was shooked by my presence when I hugged her, she didn't ease up on the contrary she tensed up more. "I know you probably want to be alone but as your knight I'm not letting you be by yourself especially in the state your in. So I'm going to stay here with you, no acceptation" as I finished saying that she sobbed more and she started to hug back as if her life depended on it.

After what seemed like 5 minutes of full sobbing she finally somewhat stopped crying and spoke "I'm sorry you had to see me like this" she said as she let me go and rubbed her tears away "I don't mind, as long as I can help you it's alright, but if you don't mind me asking why were you crying?" I asked hesitantly since I didn't want to see her sad again "....well since I can see souls it means I can see what they look like...." her voice started to drift off "I...saw my mothers soul for the first time in a long, long time" "what did it look like?" I asked concerned about what she saw "I saw cracks on her soul, meaning it is... going to break apart, and she will die soon" I don't even know how to react to that, Lady Ashlie dying. "do you know when?" I asked a little shaken by the news "s-she'll die in 2 to 3 d-days" she said in between cries, I started to hug her again and rubbing her back, trying to get her to relax.

Apart from Dekotas crying, we sat there in silence for a while until I heard nothing but slight breathing and felt a force on my body and I noticed that Dekota had fallen asleep, 'I guess she wore her self out'. I layed her down before I pick her up, I grabbed her sword and placed it in my holder, after that I picked up bridal style making sure I didn't wake her up. 'She looks so peaceful I wish I could stay like this with her but I can't do that, I need to get her back and make sure she's safe'.

As I finally reached the used to be palace I was bombarded by 2 maids Lilie and Agnes "oh my, what happened to the young Lord, is she alright, is she injured, or have been knocked out!" Anges said panicking a little "no, she just fell asleep" as I finished saying that I saw Lord Domanic and Knight Logan walking towards me concerned "what... happened to her?" The Lord asked concerned "she fell asleep after crying" I said try to explain it "take her up to her room and after the maids are done changing her into proper clothes guard her and make sure she is safe" Logan said uneasy "yes and I shall also speak to you" Domanic said worried "yes my Lord" I started to make my way up to her room to set her down before I come back in and guard her.

After the maids changed her into proper clothes I went in her room and took her sword out while placing it in its proper holder. I took a seat beside her bed concerned about what she said, but before I could continue my thoughts Lord Domanic entered the room uneasy. "Damitri, what happen to her and what did she tell you?" He asked as he took a seat in one of the chairs Dekota has "s-she told me about Lady Ashlie's soul b-breaking and only having about 2 to 3 days left" I said a little shaken, "o-only 2 to 3 days!?" Domanic said shocked about what I said "did she not tell you how long she has?!" I asked as I regretted what I said "n-no she didn't, I didn't know that's how long she has" he said concerned "I guess so, but she said her soul is breaking I know what happens but how does it start and can we fix it?" I asked worried about Lady Ashlie "no, it can not be fixed and when a soul breaks it means that they have been suffering and hiding it without consulting anyone about it, which makes it bad for the soul and then later on for their health" he said hurting "so that means, if someone is hurting and they don't tell someone that means they're soul will break?!" I said concerned since I knew Dekota would usually keep to herself.

"That's not how that works" I heard someone next to me say, and once I realized who it was I was so happy, "Dekota your awake, do you feel better now?" I said clearly overjoyed yet worried "yes but father that's not how a soul breaks, a soul can break 2 ways, 1 it can break by being saddened for a long time or 2 it can break by a spell called 'Breaking point', the spell can instantly make the victim relive there worst experience till their souls breaks, but in this case its by natural sadness for a long time" Dekota said with a blank expression "now if you may please both leave so can get changed so I can head out" Dekota said as she motioned to the door "no you are not heading out especially when Damitri brought you here asleep" Lord Domanic said frustrated "exactly why I'm leaving, so I don't have to sense moms soul, and yours" I was shocked when Dekota said that "wait does that mean that his soul is..." I said still shaken by what she said "yes, it does but he has longer than mother, I'm guessing you told him how long she has." I nodded "well he has at least 9 days unlike mom. Now if you don't mind it would be best if you let me leave, its better to be away from you and mom for the time being till I can control my mind" she said a little annoyed "fine, Damitri take care of her" the Lord said after we left the room.

After about 5 minutes Dekota finished getting ready and came outside wearing her armor, "come on we need to train" Dekota said as she started walking out the palace.
