Onion's POV

I was scared.
I held Y/N close to me. Well, his leg.

Y/N's POV

Man, Onion. A cookie that's naturally scared all the time.
No matter, I always held firm.

I pick up Onion and held her close to my chest.
She only hides in my shirt.
I sit down so my legs wouldn't be tired, and it'd be easier to hold Onion.

The ghosts Mom was friends with surrounded us.

They were all worried for Onion.

"She's okay," I calmly speak. "Just scared is all," I say as I pat Onion's back in a relaxing rhythm.

I've gotten used to the ghosts as Mom always said they wouldn't hurt us.

Onion just needs more time in handling that.

Dad, Adventure Cookie, storms in the hallway Onion and I were at.

"Ready for some adventures?"

"Shush Dad!"

"Oh sorry."
Dad comes to us and wraps his arms around both of us.

He may be a dork sometimes, but when it comes to family....
We're always first.

Even his pet, Backpacky, snuggled up against us.

My pet, (pet name), too joined in on the hug.

Onion had her pet in her hands. The doll. Never let's go of it.

"W-W-When is m-mommy coming home?" Onion asks. Her voice was stuttering from her shaking.

"Soon....." Dad replies as he looks at Ghost Butler, Mom's pet for help. Ghost just bounces up and down.

Dad then let's go of Onion and I and leaves.
"Must go out on an adventure! Your mother is much better at helping than I am."

I give a weak smile. I still hold Onion close to me. Onion doesn't let go.

As right on queue, Mom enters while holding her never-ending burning candle.

She gives the candle to one of the ghosts who then takes it away.

She crouches down to our level and sighs.

"Onion scared?"

"Y-Yeah...." I answer with a tone of scared in my voice. Even though she's my mom, I always got a chill vibe when she speaks.

Mom puts me on her lap. Onion was on mine.

"Thank you for looking after your sister," Mom speaks.

"She's always scared," I answer.

Onion hugs me tighter.
Mom hugs me with one hand while using the other hand to brush Onion's hair.

Mom speaks, "I remember when Onion was born. She was beautiful."

Onion, still holding onto me, looks at Mom.

"When I held you in my arms, the smell of onions made me determine what cookie you were. Your brother had stars in his eyes when he saw you," Mom story-tells as she brushes Onion's air as she tells the story. Mom doesn't stop brushing her hair with her hand, and occasionally rubbed Onion's cheek.

"I remember when we arrived home, your cries stopped. Your brother and the ghosts helped you calm down. In fact, you were so calm you smiled! You were so young. Well....both of you were young."

Onion only listened to Mom's words. I faintly remember that moment. Onion doesn't remember at all. I could tell because Onion didn't respond in anyway.
I only smiled at the memory.

"And here we are," Mom concludes. "Do you feel better now Onion darling?"

Onion nods.

"Mother always knows best when it comes to children."

I smiled and snuggle Onion. Mom does the same.

Onion did something she hasn't dont in a long time.

Giggle.
