"Day dreaming again are we Mr.Damien" said the stern voice that snapped me back into reality. "You know that in a week you are going to be taking the S.A.T correct"? Mrs.Stewart asked earning me the stares and snickers of my class. " No, Mrs.Stewart the rest of my peers are taking the S.A.T" I stated flatly. " why what do you mean you aren't taking the S.A.T, how do you expect to get into college?" She asked blatantly. " I don't, if you don't mind can I go to the nurse I'm not feeling well" I asked. I guess she didn't expect that answer because she was standing there looking at me like id just announced that her puppy had died. After regaining her composure, she went behind her desk and wrote out a nurses pass for me which I grabbed on my way out. " To the nurse and back, no roaming the halls she yelled as I hurried out the door. 'Man am I so glad to be out of that room' I thought to myself as i aimlessly walked the hall ways. I must have walked to the back doors of the school without realizing it because I soon found myself outside in my schools student parking lot. Ducking inside my 74 Camero (yea I'm a sucker for classic muscle.) Starting the engine with a roar, I pulled out the lot and started making my way home. Yea I'm going to catch hell for skipping....again. But like I said I have to intention on taking that test anyway so school had just become another place to day dream as my grade has been geared to prep us for it. Getting my phone out I saw I had a few text from my friends and a miss call from Denise. About Denise we use to be a thing I guess you could call it that. Alot of one-sided conversations and six months laters and I found myself kicked to the curb for my so called best friend Jordan. Sighing I turned the music up and tried to drown out my thoughts of her until I realized I had pulled up to my house. Shutting the car off and walking up to the house I noticed my moms car wasn't here guess she's out with the younger kids. When I walked inside I was greeted with a loud bark and heavy dog jumping into my arms. "Yo, down simba!" " Somebody wants to go out and play huh, ha well let me put my bag down and grab your leash and ill let you out for a walk." We've had simba for two months now and he's already part of the family. When my mom found him he was literally skin and bones but now he's as big as great danes come. Grabbing my phone out of my pocket, I dialed my moms number and started to get the leash and make my way back to the living room when she answered. "Why aren't you in school....again?" "I wasnt feel all to well so i left early." I mentioned then trying to quickly changing the subject i told her "Hey mom im taking simba for a run, didnt know how soon you'll be back but just wanted you to know where i am." "Okay honey thats fine just Make sure you keep him on his leash, God knows how fast that dog can get away from you." "Gotcha mom love ya" "love you too dam". Sliding my phone back into my pocket i hooked up simba leash and walked out the door. We started our walk slowly making our way to the park. "Hey Damian aren't you pose to be at school" yelled my neighbor Mr.Greyson. " Yea but I stayed home, simba here wasn't feeling that well so i stayed home to keep an eye on him" I quickly told him and picked up the pace so I can dodge any more of his questions. Once we reached the park, I let simba guide me around until he found a spot to do his business. Feeling a buzz in my pocket I pulled out my phone and saw that I had a text from Paige wanting to know why I wasn't in our last block of the day. quickly texting her back saying I didn't feel like being in school. Simba had finished his bathroom duties and we started to walk around the park. Feeling my phone buzz a few times a looked to see Paige calling. Paige has kinda been my best friend since grade school and she's always on top of me to keep my grades up, even though the only person in our grade that has a higher gpa than her is myself, I answered the call only to have my ear destroyed by her screeching. "WHERE ARE YOU? I'm coming to take you back to school. How do you expect to pass this year when you're hardly in school?" "Whoa, Paige calm down I'm taking simba for a walk in the park right now so I'm kinda occupied." I explained. " you are so frustrating do you know that Dame, well I'm passing your house now so just stay where you are and we can hang out I guess." Laughing " Paige is going to skip I must be dreaming" I teased her " shut up and come meet me in the parking area" she told me before she hung up. " kinda harsh today isn't she boy?" Asking simba who looked up at me with a worried look. Walking toward the parking lot I tried to recall my day dream from earlier. I wonder who all those people in the room were and what they were talking about. Pushing it from my mind as I walked up to Paige's car. I leaned up against the hood of her 05 mustang as she got out. " HEY OFF THE HOOD!" She screamed at me. "hey to you to Paige" I told her as I brushed off the spot where i had just leaned against. "Soooo Mrs.stewart annoy you again today?" She asked knowing its the truth. " you could say something like that." I told her taking a step back to check Paige out, not that I'm into her we've determined a long time ago that we're just really close friends but the last few years Paige has really started to fill out nicely. Naturally tan skin from her Native American heritage and shoulder length brown hair with blonde highlights throughout it, all that only brought out her brown eyes that in the right light would seem hazel. Standing at a good 5"6 she was a cute lil thing. " Damian hello can you stop undressing me with your eyes" blinking I realized I had been staring at her for quite some time now. " sorry i kinda zoned out you know how I am" I said while turning my head away. "Hey you should let simba off the leash sometime let him run ya know he's a big dog let him stretch his legs a little." Paige was saying and before I could stop her she'd unhooked his leash from his collar and simba took off. "Aww man Paige do you know how much of a hassle it is to catch him, follow me in the car while I go after him on foot" I yelled back after running after the dog. "Simba heel boy, stop, stay!" Not listening to anything I was yelling at him, he cut across the street and into someone's yard and quickly leaping over the back fence and onto the road on the other side. Feeling a burn in my side I was really starting to pray that he would stop to rest soon. "Simba I got a nice big bone for you if you stop" I shouted. He stopped and than eased into a slightly open gate that was to high for him to jump. Leaning against the side of the gate I watched him walk up the porch and scratch at the door. Paige pulled up on the side of the curb and jumped out the car."I'm soo sorry dame I didn't know he would take off like that" Paige pleaded. " you're fine him and i both needed that run haha." I said laughing it off. "Let's just go up there and get him." I stated starting toward simba. "Ummm dame I don't think you wanna go up there. Some weird old guy moved in there a few months back." " I'm just going to get my dog ill be right back." I walked up to simba and grabbed him by the collar at that moment the door opened and I looked up to see a middle age man staring down at me. Seeing me holding simba he begun to smile. "It's so nice of you to being my dog back to me he's been missing for months now."
