It's just how things turned out for the story. A holiday chapter in June; not the brightest idea, but it works I guess.

You know what... fuck it. I'll find someone else some other day," Marlon testified.

"That's good. Keep a positive attitude," I tell him.

I for one am not sure how old that ring pop was that Marlon ate, but he was not affected by it. It's a Saturday, and it is almost the holiday season.

I consider myself lucky, y'know? Not too many men at age fourteen have a girlfriend. Marlon did, but uh, yeah anyway, I gotta still buy a Christmas gift for Clementine. You see, it has been quite an expensive last few weeks. Clem's birthday was at the end of November, and now the holiday season. Man, I for one do not find enjoyment in carrying Clem's shopping bags around all day. The perks of being a woman's man, I guess.

"Well, boys, I'd hate to leave you hanging, but I'm taking off. Got to buy my girl some gifts," I announce. I hand my cards back to Louis.

"Oh, c'mon, man. That night last month was one thing, but you constantly spending money on her... she's pussy wipping you, man," Mitch stated.

"Oh, fuck off," I reply.

I grab my wallet, and head out. Clem and Violet are at the mall right now, and that's exactly where I was going, so I sure hope I do not see her. I open up the gate, and start to walk through the woods. There's snow on the ground, and it's snowing in the air.

"Wait, Gabe!" I heard someone scream. It was Marlon. He catches up to me.

"I need to get hell out of here for a bit. I've got cash, too, I'm coming with you," he said.

We stroll along the woods until we see some road. We're in town now. Marlon and I head to the mall. As we walked in, we were instantly hit by that "this season's hottest new gift" smell, whatever that means.

I'm not made out of money, so Clem can only get what I can afford. I think $50 is enough to spend on her. Me and the boyz do matnince work on the school grounds some days for money. Marlon went off to do his own thing. Where he's going, I don't know, but when he's done I told him to meet me in the food court by the Jamba Juice stand.

I walk around, and notice a Victoria's Secret. I saw Clem and Violet in there, but I went passed as fast as I could, so I have no doubt they didn't see me.

It was quite a shopping trip. Went to a few stores, saw nothing that'd instrest Clementine. Also went to a couple kiosks, and at one of them I did buy Clementine a $10 set of loom bands and a $30 sparkly ring. That's it. I've spent $40 on her. I hope she'll love 'em, but I'll wait 'til Christmas to give them to her.

I only had $10 dollars left for the day, so I guess a Jamba Juice smoothie it is then. My favorite ones are the strawberry ones, so I get that. About ten minuets of waiting around for Marlon, he meets me here.

This was a time a little bit before GameStops were well-known, so they were barely shopped at. Back then your options to buy video games were at retail stores and rental stores. I bring that up, 'cause Marlon bought a game with a Blockbuster sticker on it.

"What game you get?" I ask.

"Conker's Bad Fur Day," he replied.

The Nintendo 64 will always be my favorite game system. We had one back home, and we found one in our dorm room, so might as well play it. We only had two games, though. "Super Mario 64" and "Super Smash Brothers", so I liked Marlon buying another game for it. "Conker's Bad Fur Day" was one of the very last N64 games to come out.

"I think we oughta head out of here before the girls see us, aye?" I mention.

When me and Marlon got back to the school, they were playing "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree" on the overhead speakers. While that song was playing, I showed Marlon what was going on in our dorm room. Our dorm room has a window with a clear view from our room to the school grounds.

"Ya see it?" I ask him.

"Yeah," he remarked.

Aasim, Mitch, and Louis are so damn weird. They were pulling a "Home Alone" reference, and using cardboard cutouts to show motion through the window.

Clemmy will be delighted to see my gifts. While her and Violet went stupid girl shopping, I went out and bought her thoughtful gifts. Who am I kidding, though? She most likely bought gifts for me that day, too.
