The door opened, and I walked in. My heart was pounding so fast, I thought it might explode. I was in the throne room, which was the largest room in the palace besides the ballroom. At the other end of the room stood Christian. He was turned so his back was facing me. When he heard the doors close, he turned around. When he saw me, he got a huge smile on his face. I looked around the room and noticed that no one else was in there.

I walked to the other side of the room where Christian was standing. He smiled at me, and I smiled back. "You came." he said. "Why wouldn't I?" I replied. He just shrugged his shoulders then walked towards me. He put his right hand on my cheek and movies his face closer to mine until our lips were touching. I felt my stomach churn, but in a good was. The kiss sent shivers down my back. He pulled away, and I was left wanting more. He grabbed a small box from his jacket and knelt on the ground.

"Erika Elswood, would you do the honor of being my wife and queen?" he said. He opened the box. There was a big diamond ring inside. There was one big diamond in the shape of a circle. Surrounding it were several smaller diamond. It was defiantly a ring no one in my village would ever be able to afford.

"Of course I will." I said, giving him a smile. He stood up and kissed me. He put the ring on my finger, then the door opened. In walked the king and queen. Both of them had huge smiles on their faces. "My son has finally found a suitable wife!" Said the king. "Indeed he has." The queen agreed. "If you will come with me, I will show you to your room. You will be staying there until the wedding." she added. She held out her hand and I took it. We walked out of the room and down a long hallway.

"I know, the place looks intimidating. Don't worry, you will learn to find your way around." the queen said. "Yeah." was all I could say. Suddenly, the queen stopped walking. "Whats wrong dear?" she asked me. "It's just...I'm just a girl from West Field. I don't know anything about being royal." I said.

"I know you don't. It's okay. I didn't know anything about royalty when I married into the family either. That's why you will be taking classes for Ellie. She will help you." she said. I shook my head, but I was still uncertain. "Don't worry. I promise everything will be fine." she said, sensing my uncertainty. We continued walking until we were at the end of the hallway.

"Well, this is your room. You have had a long day and should get some rest. Tomorrow night we will be having a party in honor of you and Christian's engagement."

"Will my parents be there?"

"Of course they will. They are invited to all palace events."

I let out a sigh of relief. I wasn't sure if the man who brought me here was lying about that, but now I know he's not.

"Well, you should get some rest. There is a nightgown laid out on the bed for you." she said. "Thank you." I replied. She gave me a smile then walked away. I went into the room. It was huge! It might even be bigger than my house back home. It had stone floors and wooden walls. There were paintings done by famous artists hanging on the wall. There was a king sized bed with a canopy that almost went up to the ceiling. The bed was covered in purple and green silky sheets (purple and green is our kingdoms colors) with the royal symbol on it. The symbol was the initials of the royal family. Pretty soon my initials would be added.

I grabbed the nightgown off of the bed. It was a long, silky pink dress. Back home, I would just put on comfortable clothing. I never had proper nightwear. I put on the gown. It was so comfortable, it felt like I was wearing a cloud. I went to take off my mask, then I realized that I don't have it anymore. Since I was going to be royalty, I would never have to wear a mask again. That thought put a huge smile on my face.

I got into the bed and immediately sunk in. It was comfortable, and the sheets were extremely soft. Back home, I slept on a cot with a blanket made from sheep wool. This was way not comfortable. I found a good position, then fell into a deep sleep.

I needed my rest. After all, tomorrow is going to be a busy day.
