Back to The Plaza

A week goes by fairly fast. Taking care of Fink is a lot of fun and it's great to see her get a little closer to Rakal. It made Rakal appreciate how her life had been like since she met Venomous. He even let her have another day off to herself once again.

She decided to go to Lakewood Plaza Turbo to go sign up for fighting classes and do some light shopping too. Maybe get a gift for Fink, and possibly Venomous, if she sees anything. She walked over to the dojo and filled out the form for next week's class.

After that, she browses around the smaller shops and gets a few ideas, but decides to head to Gar's Bodega to see what they have. Once she started to look, Rakal couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the choices. There was a surprisingly a lot of little weapon toys for kids alone. She decides to keep looking around until something catches her eye.

Speaking of which, a little bundle of joy just peaked his head out from above the shelf, trying to be all sneaky. KO jumps out and tries to tackle Rakal, but she quickly catches him.

"And what do we have here? A toy?" Rakal grins and starts poking his belly, making him laugh. "No! I'm KO!" He chuckles and jumps off. "I thought I was being all sneaky." He pouted. She laughs and mess with his hair.

"It's good to see you too, KO." She smiled and looks over at the shelf again. "Hey, so I'm looking for a present to give to a little girl I know... think you can help?" She asked.

"Of course! That's what I'm here for." He grins and takes her hand. "Now, what does she like?" He asked. "Hmmm... well, she's been into dinosaurs lately and she loves video games. Oh, and she adores scary movies." Rakal lists off from the top of her head.

KO thinks for a bit before leading Rakal to the back. "I think I have something in mind, but we just ran out of copies up front. There's more in the back though." He explained.

"You sure this is OK, KO?" She asked and looked around the strangely big warehouse in the back. "I'm sure, you're with me so it's fine." He assured. "Hey Rad! Can I have Dinopocalypse II for my friend?" KO asked and a blue alien pokes his head around a tower of boxes.

"Sure bro." Rad smiles and levitates a box full of them. "Shoot, didn't know this was out yet." Rakal grins and grabs a copy. "You're the best, KO!" She smiles and gives him a hug.

"Ahem!" They hear Rad clear his throat and Rakal laughs. "I thank you too, Rad." She grins and walks over to give him a hug too. "Don't mention it... um, what's your name?" He asked as she let's him go.

"Oh, Rakal. Nice to meet you." She smiles and shakes his hand. "Pleasure is all yours." He says all cool and gets back to work, not wanting her to see the slight blush on his face. KO takes Rakal's hand again and takes her to the front to checkout.

"Was there anything else you need, mam?" KO asked in his most genuine customer service smile. Rakal giggles and shakes her head. "You were wonderful help, KO." She grins. "That's great to hear. I'll see ya later next time!" KO waves off to do his cleaning duties and Rakal waves back.

She walks up to a distracted Enid and sets the game on the counter. "Hey Enid, long time no see." Rakal greets her with a nervous smile, not forgetting the first time they've met.

"Oh, hey Rakal." Enid smiles a bit and scans the game. "Guess you were able to land a job somewhere?" She asked. "Yeah, I'm a nanny for now. To a villain's minion no less." Rakal says jokingly. "But it's fun regardless. The game is actually for her." She explains.

Enid tells her the price and Rakal pays with ease. "Well, as long as you're happy." Enid shrugs. "I am." Rakal smiles warmly. "Well, see ya later, Enid." She says as she walks out. "See ya." Enid smiles.

Rakal decides to sit down, thinking about all the shops she's been to and didn't see anything for Venomous, but she guessed she didn't know him that well to begin with.

"Brandon! That lunch was WAY too long. I had to close the shop to look for you. Really not cool dude." A real talking skeleton nags a bear as the two walk into a frame shop. "Relax, RMS. I doubt anyone is thinking about frames during lunch." Brandon brushes him off.

This gave Rakal an idea and looks through her phone to see she had a lot of pictures of Fink. She decides on the first picture she ever took of her eating ice cream and rushes into the store to have it framed.

Later that day, Rakal comes home and makes a nice meal for Venomous and Fink. Cheesy linguine with a small salad for Fink and cooked salmon along with a side of wild rice for the professor. She was also in the middle of baking little cupcakes for dessert.

She looks over at the food and the presents hiding under a piece of cloth, feeling all excited to give them theirs gifts. Rakal started to set the table and was surprised to see Venomous in the kitchen when she came back.

"Now what's all this?" He asked, about to peak under the cloth, but she quickly grabbed his hand. "No!" She yells and quickly covers her mouth when she sees him frown at her. "I'm sorry sir, but I want it to be a surprise." She admitted.

Venomous stares at her and sighs. "Very well. I'll go let Fink know it's time for dinner." He states and walks out.

Rakal sighs in relief and looks at the presents. She really hopes that this will get him back into a better mood. She finishes up setting up the table and places the food on the table as the two sit down.

"Dinner is served." She smiles and heads back to the kitchen. "Call if you need me." "Wonder what all this hullabaloo's about?" Fink asked and digs into her food. Venomous wondered the same thing, but forgets while he enjoys his meal.

Once the cupcakes were all nice and presentable, she walks out with two on their own little plates. "Hope you two left room for dessert." She grins and places them down. "Really, Rakal. What's all this about?" Venomous asked, pretty amused by her hospitality.

"You'll see, sir." She smiles and heads back to the kitchen as they enjoy their sweets. She grabs the presents and hides them behind her back.

"Did you two enjoy your dinner?" She asked. "Yeah, it was great, but I want another cupcake!" Fink grins. "Maybe later, Fink." Rakal blushes a bit and looks at Venomous.

"How about you sir?" She asked. "It was great." He agrees and leans back to see Rakal hiding something. "I'm glad to hear. I really wanted to do something nice for you two." Rakal walks over to Fink and hands her her gift.

"Here ya go." She smiled and Fink gasped. She tears up the wrapper and gasped. "Dinopocalypse II! Oh my Cob!" She shouts and hugs Rakal. "Thank you!" She lets go and runs out to play the game right away. The two smile at Fink's reaction and laugh a bit. "Guess it's my turn." He sighs and takes his hand out. Rakal hands it to him.

"I hope you like it." She smiles and sits down at the table. Venomous opens the gift and was shocked to see a framed picture of Fink. The frame looked like a snake circling around her eating ice cream, like it was protecting her. "Thank you, Rakal. I love it." He says and smiles at her. "I wasn't really sure on what to get you, to be honest." She admits.

"It really is a great gift, I really mean that. Other than myself, I don't think anyone really cares about Fink more than you do. Not to mention, you can never have too many pictures of Fink." He grins.

"Don't I know it." Rakal giggles and takes out her phone to show the majority of her pictures are Fink. "What can I say? She's adorable." She shrugs. "Guilty as charge." Venomous takes out his phone to show a million pictures of Fink.

"We're both under her charm." Rakal jokes and the two laugh together. He smiles at Rakal and leans in a bit. "I feel like she's under your charms too." He says and closed his eyes in content. She blushes and shakes her head.

"You're too kind." She says, thinking about how she was completely under her boss's charms. "I'm really glad to still have you with us." He smiles as he gets up.

"Why not go have some fun with Fink? I can clean up." He volunteered. "You sure? I don't mind clea-" Rakal starts, but stops when he places a hand on her shoulder. "I'm sure, you fun." He insists.

"Yes, sir." She smiles a little and heads over to play with Fink. Venomous looks at the framed picture again and smiles. "Think I'll set this down in my office." He says to himself and starts to clean.
