Chapter 25

Scott's POV

I was finally back with the others and we were presently at school. It was already break time and we gathered at our usual table.

"Scott welcome back and you too Fred. Fred we felt your absence a lot." Diana said.
"I'm really sorry I left you guys. My mom was sick." Fred said.
"Paul, your birthday is next Wednesday. So what are your plans? Because when it comes to parties,I know everything about it." Tamira said.
"Yeah,Diego and I experienced it." I said. "So where do you plan in celebrating it?"
"Valley Park. It's a nice place." Paul said.

I inwardly gulped in the saliva that was left in my mouth. Valley Park. That was the place where the wolf pack were to go and turn. It was fucking the same day.

"Can't you change the place? There are better places." I said.
"So what's wrong with Valley Park? There's a lot of land for the party to be organised. Paul you are inviting many people right?" Tamira asked.

I saw Paul nodding his head and I almost fainted. I looked at Diego and he knew there was something wrong. He will surely ask me later.

"Okay,it's your birthday party. I won't  be there, I have to visit my family again. But Paul, I will surely give you a gift." I said.
"Thanks". Paul said." I would have loved that you attend."
"Yeah we too. Are you not just from visiting your family? Megan asked.
"The thing is,his family is too demanding. You know the only child and son of a family is really not the ideal." Diego said.

Yeah Diego. He always has the most stupid and senseless reasons for backup. I saw the others faces and I knew they had believed what Diego had said.

"Okay no problem. I'll wait for the gift." Paul said.

After classes,Diego and I left for our house. Diego kept on looking at me and I knew he had questions. I'm sure he would ask them   when we were at home. We finally arrived and as I opened the door,he finally asked me.

"Can you now spill the beans? I've been eager to know." Diego said.
"Let's sit down first."

We both sat down on the sofa and Diego sat opposite me.

"The thing is that Paul's birthday and venue is the same as the full moon." I told him.
"I've not understood what you have just said.''
" Next week Wednesday is Paul's birthday right? "
"Yes." Diego answered.
"We are turning on Wednesday and it is in our usual spot Valley Park." I told him.
"Uh oh."

I saw Diego's face and his face was like he had seen something horrific. There was no way we could change the venue because the others would suspect there was something going on.

"You know we cannot change their minds." Diego said.
"I know. While I would be at the wolf camp,you will take care of the people who will attend the party."
"No problem."

It was finally Wednesday and I was with the wolf pack. We were heading  to Valley Park and I prayed silently in my heart that none of the party people would cross our paths.

Diana's POV
It was finally Paul's birthday and I could see joy in Megan's eyes because her boyfriend's birthday was today. Classes were finally over and we went to our various houses to change into our party wears.

"I'm really happy for Paul. He's turning a year older today." Megan said.
"Of course you have to be. I hope you have a gift for him."
"Of course I do. Come let's get to the party before we are late."
"Okay." I said.

We finally arrived Valley Park and the population that was there was really much. We found  Paul,Diego,Fred and Tamira sitting and drinking. We started chatting together and laughing.

"Happy birthday Paul." I told him.
"Thanks Diana. I'm happy you guys all came."
"We couldn't miss.''Tamira said.

We partied together and I was feeling bored. I decided to leave the party area and take a walk. It was 11pm and the environment was so dark,birds were barely seen but sounds of bats were heard. I walked barefoot on the grass holding my heels in my hand,then suddenly I heard the sound of a stick crack. It was foggy so I couldn't see..... I couldn't see anything except the red eyes which approached me.

" What on earth?"I said to myself moving backwards in fright. I hit my heel on a stone. I saw a pair if red eyes moving towards me and I noticed that it was not only a pair of red eyes  but several of them. As the wolves surrounded me,they made a path for the first. As the wolf was moving towards me, I stepped backwards and there was nothing more than fear that gripped me at that moment. I felt myself being carried away by the wolf in the dark not knowing what would become of me after.
